We all know the scent. AM I RIGHT? You could be walking down the street and then BAMMM. You smell it... Someone is cutting grass. You can smell it in the air.. and it smells good... Its almost nostalgic so you stop and take another deep breath. Breathing through your nose. Deep Breath IN, Deep Breath OUT.

DO YOU EVEN KNOW WHAT YOUR SMELLING?????? WELL... Its the smell of grass being in pain and agony. Plants release many different organic compounds. When leaf blades are heavily injured, these emissions increase LIKE CRAZY in attempt to save itself from infection and disease. The chemicals being released are what we as humans smell. The "freshly cut grass smell" is actually the grass saying. OUCH, that hurt me. I need to heal myself.

The chemical compound released from the grass does a few different things. #1: it protects bad things from entering the wound. #2: it stimulates new cell growth so that the plant can start healing. #3: The scent of newly cut grass has been identified as the plant’s way of signalling distress, YES. BUT new research says the aroma also summons beneficial insects to the rescue.

Share your thoughts! Can someone give me my first resteem??? Im new to the steemit community and would love some interaction!
