Internet Self Esteem Balance of a Full Life

in #internet7 years ago

People used to worry about if they were attractive, but today's digital age is changing the scope of how you gauge your value. With apps like tinder and online dating you don't have to go far for validation. I have found people serial date for what seems like personal gratification. I listen to friends talk about going on dates, but there isn't much depth in the interaction. All that matters is the going on the date. No value in the person they are with taking away from the effort spent.
When you don't have to appreciate the value of the effort from a person. You start to lack value in life, and your point of choices of how you act. No one has to try to maintain the relationship you have if you can get a date with a flick of your finger.
This all relates to a simple supply and demand ratio. Supply of people on the web is not lacking a supply of social gratification. When you look at your next date think about if you would care about the person if they valued you like a source. Not caring about supply, and caring about consistent demand leads to offside systems. There id's a reason a balance is necessary to create growth.
Care about life and what it takes to make it full.
