Interviewing someone is sometimes considered quite difficult, but if you have a plan and know what to do, it's much easier. There are parts of an interview process that are more difficult - like convincing someone to give you their time, but the interview itself is not all that difficult. I've read many interviews on Steemit that are truly inspiring. It's a great way to get to know each other better and build good social relations.

I'd love to interview someone, and if you're planning the same, then this post is especially for you. It's such an honor to invite and interview someone. It not only helps you to build relationships, but it can also improve your confidence. In the case of Steemit, it may even motivate you to spend more time on the site.

Before you interview someone, it's good to educate yourself with the tips that will help you in handling everything correctly. In this article, I'm going to share some tips with you that will ensure the best results from your interview attempt.

1 - Contact the interviewee

Before doing anything, you should contact the interviewee, and ask whether they'll be interested to spare some time for you. In order to maximize your chances of getting a yes, you should explain the potential benefits they could get from that interview. If you have a large audience, be certain to point that out.

In the case of an interview with a Steemit user, you could do that easily with Steemit.chat. Since most of the users are registered on that site, there's a good chance that you'll get a reply. You can also leave your comment, and mention the person (using "@" followed by their username), in order to notify them. Give them an estimate of the projected time frame, and ask if they can spare that much time for the interview. If not, ask how much time they can spare.

2 - Prepare the questionnaire in advance

This is the second step. You can't prepare 100 questions to ask if the interviewee has only 5 minutes to spend with you. That's the reason why asking the time-period is important. Once you know the amount of time that your interviewee is willing to spend, then you can prepare your questionnaire accordingly.

If you're looking for detailed replies, then don't fill your questionnaire with unnecessary questions. You can ask broad questions if you want the interviewee to have more flexibility in their answers. However, you might like to break every single question down into pieces to keep it on specific topics. That's entirely up to you to decide.

3 - Check your recording device

It's extremely frustrating when your device stops working during an interview, so it's a prudent practice to check everything before the interview to ensure that things go smoothly. It's also not a bad idea to have a backup device should your primary equipment fail.

Double check all the options, such as the resolution of your recording, and whether the microphone is enabled or not. You should also record a quick test session before the interview to make certain everything is functioning properly.

You may not get an opportunity to rebook the interview, so do whatever you can to make sure it goes off without a hitch!

One of the good things about interviewing someone is that both parties feel are usually honored to chat with each other. The interviewee will appreciate that you decided to choose them out of many, and the interviewer will appreciate the time of interviewee. Now you can take these tips and hopefully chase some interviews of your own!
