Bamboo dog

Greeting and salutations.

Found this forum thanks to Jeff Berwick and his walking the doggies videos.

My bamboo dog, he guards the bamboo from the sneaky palm rats!

I live in Thailand, and started a bamboo reforestation project about 3 years ago.
Most local agriculture is oil palm and rubber, both of which are very hard on the land for a variety of reasons.

A new Pai kim sung shoot, emerging, a very nice edible variety which likes and enrichens poor compacted sandy soil.

My other passion is cycle touring, which is something that opens the mind and body to the world and propels one closer to nature and people.
So much more life enhacing than travelling in airconditioned death cages gobbling petrol and puking poisonous gases.

I hope to post some more cycle touring adventures from Euroland and California

This whole cryptocurrency and blockchain social paradigm is truly welcome and is a refreshing phenomena.

Hey, thanks. Now I am indeed part of the club...hoorah!

What all do you pack on the bike?

Depends on the mission, sometimes I carry full camping/ cooking kit.
When I started I would carry way too much.(like the european and usa trips)
For Thailand just lightweight easy to wash high visibiilty clothing. For most Thailand travel you can manage without camping gear, as there are many cheap motels and bungaloes all over.
Each trip I learn a bit more on how to reduce weight.
The more minimalist you get the more you get the true sense of freedom and liberty the cycle tourist can experience.
That said there are some amazing stories of cyclists touring on cargo bikes crossing Siberia in winter with full winter camping kit!
