Hello from Kenya!

Hello Steemit family!

My name is Florence Kamaitha from Nairobi, Kenya. I know many people associate Kenya with Obama but trust me, he was not born in Kenya. lol!
I run a social enterprise where we produce low cost sanitary pads and work mainly with inmates and ex inmates in an effort to rehabilitate them and avoid re-offence. i started it as an initiative and have run it as a social enterprise for the last two years. Of late i have been debating whether this is all i want to do. A social enterprise has its challenges and many confuse it with a charity, and i guess i am getting to a point where i am feeling uninspired, little motivation and all. I will write about the business later.IMG-20161220-WA009.jpg
I live in Nairobi, a vibrant town with great minds. i love hanging out with fellow entrepreneurs who challenge me and push me to keep innovating and growing.

I am single or let me just say, in a situationship. i live with my two cats. Jojo and Lulu. i did not know what i was getting myself into when i adopted the cats. They are fun to be with but they are a handful. Last month i traveled for a week, and i was worried about them. We don't have cat sitters around, so i asked my ex to pop in daily and feed them. it was a very awkward conversation because he really hates cats. They sleep around like they pay rent. he he.

I enjoy dancing. Wine and dancing are probably my favourite things to do right now. i have three crazy friends who also double up as my business partners. We have a digital agency together and we promote brands online. i also have a blog where i write about business. www.herbusiness.co.ke . I try to write as often as i can. DB0aVw7XoAE-oEI.jpg

I love being here. My friend Verengai introduced me. I hope to connect, share and learn from all of you!

Nice to meet you! It's interesting to hear stories from so many diverse folks around the world. I also have a cat who lives as if he pays the bills. All the best.

Thanks so much.

Welcome to Steemit.

A few things

  1. the tag should be 'introduceyourself' (one word). Also use the tag 'Kenya' and 'Africa' to make it easy for people searching for content to discover you. Hey you can also add the 'Zimbabwe' tag :)
  2. The next time you post to herbusiness, you should also put the same post here. People here love content.
  3. Please say hie to Jojo and Lulu for me. Do you have pictures?
