Hello everybody, my name is Charles, i'm 28 years old and live in Rouen, France. I'm new to steemit, actually i've opened my account earlier but never done anything on it since. I'm very impressed at how the whole Steemit community works, its hard for me to understand how the whole thing is working but people looked so friendly in the articles and comments that i've made my decision to come and try instead of asking why and how.

To speak about myself, i'm a GNU/Linux/Windows system administrator working in the educational system, contrary to most computer guys, i'm not that much into computer things, certainly because of my political opinions, i'll try to explain it later.
The only thing that is exciting to me in this computer world is GNU/Linux, this is very interesting because of the community working around this ecosystem and the fact that it is privacy/security oriented. The whole open source world is very exciting and brings to life projects like Steemit or Bitcoin, Ethereum or even Firefox. I'm confident that in several years, people will start to understand what is at stake with the whole open-source thing :)

Ok, i'm tired of speaking about computers, let's talk about my other passion: Politics.
I'm actually a real news addict, i like to read all sort of things related to politics, debating and trying to make the truth emerge.
I'm reading mainstream medias, alternative medias, everything that is related to economy, geopolitics. I'm a freedom enthusiast and i'm ashamed at our so-called "developed world" where equality, freedom and quality of life are so imbalanced.

As some of you may have seen (Steemit picture;)), i'm a Hunter S. Thompson fan, his writings have influenced me so much in my everyday life, i would even say that it helped me when i was in a wrong period of my life. Thompson was good at getting people to relativise about their lives, showing them how the world is a mountain of illusions and nightmares that we created ourselves. I've come to know him after watching the french version of "Fear and loathing in Las Vegas" and he trully is one of the most influential writer in my life.

I will conclude by trying to explain what is my goal on Steemit and what type of articles i'm gonna try to write. My goal is to make at least once a week a political journal where i will give my opinion on our leaders decisions and on world events. Everything else will be short articles related to what i like, linux and computers in general, permaculture/gardening tips or ideas and even things that i stumbled upon.

I hope my introduction wasn't too long and boring and that you'll follow my futur contributions.
Sorry if my english isn't very good, i hope it will improve over time.
