Hello, it's taken me a ludicrous amount of time to write this

in #introducemyself7 years ago (edited)

To echo the words of my sister @jwinblood. This is pretty awkward for me. I don't really talk about myself a whole lot. I've never really considered myself an interesting enough person. Anywho, let's start this word salad shall we?

My name is Gydion Ash Winblood. I'm 23 years old, though I know I certainly do not look, and sometimes don't act my age. I'm a second, possibly third-generation geek, "doomed" to geekdom since birth. I had a mouse in my hand from the earliest moment I ever could learn to use one, a fact that my dad @dwinblood sometimes said he regretted when I was younger. I spend much of my free time playing video games, watching Youtube, talking with internet friends, and role-playing on a forum. Sometimes I'll sit down and binge watch a tv series or an anime. I love horror, to a degree that sometimes disturbs me. I'll probably write more on that later when I'm not trying to write a quick introduction out.

I'm on Steemit because my dad has been constantly talking about it with me for the better part of a year or so now and I finally just decided to go buckle down and try it out. The worst that could happen is that I will have no idea what I want to write. Which is a bit likely. I might treat this as a bit of a journal to keep track of my thoughts, and get more comfortable writing about myself and my interests. If someone enjoys reading what I write, all the better!

But for now, hello everyone! I look forward to meeting you all and immersing myself in a new community.

Thank you for your time!

Welcome to Steemit. You might consider checking out Chainbb as well. That is built on the steem blockchain as well. What that means is posts here that are displayed a little differently. Steemit is like the MAIN view, but it is not the only view into the blockchain. Chainbb approaches it more like forums, so if you decided you wanted to get one of your Forum style RPGs going I bet there would be some people into that. You could do that here, or chainbb. In reality, when you are doing it in one place you are doing it in both places... :)

Might be confusing but soon it will be clearer than mud. I'm glad you finally posted something. Now we need to get Talon to do it.

I'll definitely give it a look and see what's going on. I'm pretty easily distracted though so you might have to remind me next time I visit.

When you come and visit us again we'll show you some tricks and try to answer questions you may have. We can of course do so before you visit, but that is an excuse and maybe get you into see that guy about your back that your mom was talking about.

Welcome to Steemit! Have you heard about Attack on Titan? I think you might enjoy that (anime). Everyone has something of value to say so I wouldn't worry too much about that. Sometimes people don't know what to blog about, and really that should never be forced. When I can't think of what to write, or don't have the time, I comment on other people's works. I hope you enjoy your time here and know that you will find many others here who share your interests on all things under the big geek umbrella.

Welcome to Steemit! I like how you said doomed to geekdom xD Maybe it should be 'raised in'. I prefer to think that my kids have an advantage with the geek that fills the house LOL I also joined because of @dwinblood talking about this. Hope you enjoy it!

Well, I did put "Doomed" in quotation marks. It's the best way I could think of to put in sarcasm. I don't regret being a geek for a second!
But yeah, this place isn't so bad so far ^.^

Welcome to steemit - I hope you enjoy your stay. I been following dwinblood since my first day I think.

If your anything like your dad - youll fit right in. ;)

Thank you! Yeah my Dad is one of the most unique people I know. Every time I visit he shows me some of the stuff he's written on here. It's something he's always seemed so excited about when I talk to him.

Also let me personally say thank you for following my dad and supporting him. I know you don't see the effect you all have on this end of things, but Steemit has really done wonders for him.

Welcome to SteemIt @eli-chanpu! I am also new! Let's do this girl!!!

Considering my picture broke and it took me the better part of 10 mins to figure out how to fix it, this made me laugh. Thank you though! We can do this!

Good to have you here bro about time love you.

Love you too brotagonist! I need to comment on your post earlier today cause I read it not long before I wrote this.

I might treat this as a bit of a journal to keep track of my thoughts, and get more comfortable writing about myself and my interests. If someone enjoys reading what I write, all the better!

Welcome! Looking forward to seeing what you decide to write about. I like to write when I have something to say. Otherwise, if I try to force myself to write, it just becomes a chore. Sometimes the simplest idea can spark the most interesting conversations.

Thank you! I'm a bit worried that I don't really have a lot to say about things though. There's not a lot that I really feel strongly about that's... well... significant. I talk about a lot of dumb, silly, inconsequential things.

That's nothing to worry over! Your perspective is unique, and what is familiar and mundane to you may be unexplored territory for others. Not everything needs to be significant or profound, but sometimes the silly and inconsequential things are the most valuable and inspiring.

Just say what you want to say without worrying whether anyone will like it. Write it in a way that pleases you, and others will enjoy it too.

Welcome @eli-chanpu. I love that you and your siblings are joining your father here on SteemIt.

Yeah it's pretty great. We've always been a pretty tight knit family. Now the real challenge comes from bringing the younger sibling here.

Welcome to Steemit. You will like it here that is for sure. I'm not a writer much either but I am learning to like it more and more. All I need now is to find my niche and learn to love it haha. Once again welcome.

Thank you! I hope the both of us can find that niche!

I do understand where you are coming from. I didn't like writing all that much when I was growing up. I like writing now, not as much as my younger brother Talon does. But it is something I do quite enjoy. I wouldn't be role playing on forums quite as much as I do (I have about 5 tabs dedicated to just that forum right now) if I didn't.

I'm just not used to writing about myself.

Definitely following you though to see where you find your niche.
