Pleased to meet you, Steemit Community.
Change is Growth!
If there is one thing I have struggled with throughout my life, it's the process of change in all of its forms. Change is uncomfortable and requires vision and purpose if I want the journey of change to be one of joy; without it I simply end up complaining about how much it sucks. This makes my journey one that others do not enjoy - something I know impacts my legacy of relationship with those I love and hold dearest - My life is not happening to me, it is simply happening and I have been provided the honor of bearing witness and participating in something far greater than my discomfort during its fluxes and flows. Change keeps me in flight, in motion, and moving forward - I wouldn't survive without it!

Vision - Purpose - Intention
So... why am I saying this at the outset of my introduction? I say this to set my intention of joining the Steemit Community. Steemit itself represents a process of change that challenges what we as a society are comfortable with and, when change is on the horizon, it is easy for fear and doubt to take root and challenge us to abandon vision and purpose. I can imagine the challenges faced by @ned in his vision of creating something that is, in so many ways, a new frontier, and challenges conceptions of how community manifests itself, how currency is conceived, and where the wealth of a nation(s) is rooted. Cryptocurrencies, exchanges and the like scares people simply because it represents change, a movement, and a shift away from what is know to something different and unknown. This to me is what life is like. We move about in our life and when our needs are not being met, changes begin to take place - not because they are possible, but because they are necessary! We either embrace change and move forward with intention and integrity, or nature drags us there! From the day I was born, my life has been in a constant process of change and growth, and I have so much gratitude for where it has brought me today, and I choose now as the time to share with others the gifts that I have experienced in my life. Again, I don't like change, but I embrace it and hope to inspire others the way I have been inspired. As my little girl, Freya, says "Daddy, sharing is caring". I love that! As a man in the world, I feel the need to encourage others to grow in their struggles as strengths. My growth as a man is something that has happened due to many impacting variables, but these stand out as pillars: my willingness to be uncomfortable, the power of my wife, Candice Griffith @basicbeing, to challenge me at every turn, imperfect parents, the birth of my lovely daughter, Freya, and the embrace of mentors who hold no punches and asked me the hard questions. That is my intention and hope of being part of this community. So thanks Steemit and to all those who share their lives and inspirations here.
Who am I?

First, I am me: Devin T. Pollitt. A man - bumbling along in this world with intentions, hopes and dreams. I am also husband to Dr. Candice Griffith, @basicbeing (fellow steemian), father of lovely daughter, Freya, and co-founder of NIHC with my wife, Candice. I absolutely love my family with every ounce of my being. I was made for family! I was born 34 years ago in the small town of 100 mile house British Columbia (BC), have a mixed heritage of European and Algonkian decent, and have lived all over Canada. I have now settled on the Northwest Coast of BC. I am an explorer who loves the outdoors, hunting, fishing and travelling, building things with my hands, and talking to people about problems/solutions. I adore my wife, love my daughter with a passion, appreciate and respect my mother, enjoy good company with friends and emotional experiences. Those are my basics of being!

Professionally, I am a businessman, an investor and a trained psychotherapist. I spend the majority of my time doing two things: managing the clinic, real estate, and investments both my wife and I co-operate, and running my private practice of providing counselling and support to both local patients, and isolated Aboriginal Communities throughout Northwestern BC. I also provide training and workshops on a broad range of subjects as part of my practice. I love what I do, even though it comes with constant change and challenges. I love people, even the ones I can't stand, as they teach me more about myself than anything else in this world - thank you prickly people. Its been said I am a thinker, trailblazer, kind/loving, a wanderer, and forward thinking (positive qualities); while at times I can also be a bit self-absorbed, an academic snob, and unrelenting (the crap I am still working on). I believe in connecting with people in a real way as the standard of all things and the foundation of any good work, healthy family and sense of meaning in life. Disconnection from others is isolation; isolation from others is death! In other words: I love being in relationship with people, especially my family. In the work that I do, I am constantly pouring out energy into the needs of others - this is something both Candice and I do daily in our work together and apart - It never ends because we like it that way, even when we don't!

Candice is my Queen. She inspires me when I am empty, challenges me when I am feeling sorry for myself, comforts me when I am down, loves me when I am unlovable, is constantly patient, calls me on my shit, and never gives up!

Freya is my heart. Nothing in this world makes me feel more moral. She grounds me to things important when I am distracted. My heart is for her joy!

Final Thoughts
Thank you for listening to my introduction. I hope to connect with many of you, and hear and learn from your journeys as I share mine with you. We all have something to share and enrich each others lives with.
As said earlier, and the last point of my introduction, I am an explorer. I love new things and new frontiers - they inspire me, even when they evoke fear from and within me. So...here is to new frontiers, growth, being uncomfortable, and stepping out to blaze a trail.

Welcome aboard the Steemit Train @addictedtogrowh!
I am under the feeling that you will greatly enjoy the ride as we are a community of thinkers, creative sharp minds and warm open-hearted individuals, for the most part... Thus, your choice to join us in this particular time is a good reflection of your trailblazing, desire for growth and solid healthy human connections.
I loved reading and learning more about you, as we haven't had much time to share one-on-one yet. To my great pleasure, the magic of this platform will help us bridge that gap. I just found out that you are also of first nations decent, my great-grand-parents were of Maleceet decent.
It is always heart-warming to know that the most beloved people in your life are actually being loved with a passion by their partner in life, your write-up exemplifies that, to my delight, and your love for Freya radiates through loud and clear as well. Much gratitude for it all!
Namaste :)
Thanks @eric-boucher. I too look forward to connections. Thanks for getting us going and planting seeds.
