A little bit about me
For me it's really hard to write this blogpost. Should it be personal, or should it be straight to the point?
Although I studied journalism it's never easy to start writing a post. Especially one about yourself. Nerve-wrecking!
Actual depiction of me when I started to write this.
Since I started to talk about my profession, let's just go from there. I worked for one of the biggest newspapers in Venezuela, but decided to stop. I guess this career path wasn't for me, especially in a country where a dictator is in charge. Just giving your opinion freely is dangerous, and I don't want to end up being prosecuted.
On the other hand, my paycheck didn't amount to much so I had to constantly be looking elsewhere for money. Also, it turned out that the stress of the work environment in a newsroom wasn't for me.
Some call it cowardice or survival. I prefer to think I got to know myself better -my wants and expectations out of life. So, here I am teaching English, writing blogposts for clients, and managing online personal branding. It's hard work, but I feel calmer now.

As for the English teaching part, while studying my degree I worked as a part-time English teacher. So for me it was only natural that at some point I would do it again. Nonetheless, I never imagined it would be right now and always thought it'd be something I'd do after growing older lol.

Welcome, Amanda! Nice to find another fellow journalist. I also found working in a newsroom quite tiring, especially when you had at least one breaking news daily. It takes a toll on you. I did the same thing as you, searched another path that suited me.
There are a lot of writers on Steemit. Also you can find and join communities where you can find people in your niche.
Just be yourself, write whatever you choose, without fear of censorship, and your blog will grow in no time.

It's so nice to hear from another journalist. I was a bit nervous and really didn't know how to begin.
Hope to connect with other writers and loose my fear of writing whatever I like. I mean, it's so different than writing for a newspaper or clients, and I don't really have any experience as a blogger.
