Andreinartistica: color, espacio y figura – color, space and figure

Hi. I am Venezuelan. My parents named me Flor Andreína Orellana, and I have been a dreamer ever since. I have been attracted to colors and shapes since my childhood; and thinking about that “something” they could get to be, had become my life principle. As an architect, I model environments and my work may get to transform realities. As a plastic artist, I can break the rules and alter the perception and usage of our surroundings. Reality is a subjective, personal and relative matter regarding how we observe and engage with shapes, figures and space. Any object, shape or figure may be a subject of exploration, whose greatest virtue is that we will always find a message, content or story that makes it fascinating, under our own interpretation.

Asimismo, hacer ciudades, verlas crecer, desarrollarse, es un anhelo de todo arquitecto y, el arte, como forma de expresión del ser humano, es protagonista en esta paleta urbana. Mi experiencia como planificadora y proyectista se intercepta con la plástica en el tema de arte y ciudad, encontrando espacios para la participación ciudadana.

Desde este portal, Steemit, quiero mostrar y relatar sobre mi propuesta plástica y, eventualmente, en cómo se relacionan arte y ciudad.

Likewise, making cities and watch them grow and develop is every architect’s longing; and art, as a form of expression of humanity, plays the lead in this urban palette. My experience as a city planner intercepts with painting on the subject of art and city, finding new areas for citizenship involvement.

From this portal, Steemit, I wish to show and relate about my artistic propose and, eventually, on how city and art intertwine.

Soy dibujante y pintora. Me gusta el grafito y los lápices de colores para dibujar pero cualquier cosa que deje una marca, sirve. Me desenvuelvo con el acrílico y las acuarelas para darle “vida” a los lienzos y al papel. En esta etapa, recurro a la intensidad del color, a trazos geométricos sencillos, al uso de la mano libre (sin instrumentos), a la superposición de figuras para crear volúmenes con luz y sombras, a enfrentamientos dimensionales, a diálogos entre representaciones gráficas. El reto es a seguir explorando y descubriendo un lenguaje que resuma y depure la búsqueda de hacer lo aparentemente contradictorio, algo absolutamente armónico y elocuente.

It sums up marked brushstrokes that vibrate of color; it discovers that traditional schemes can be broken to come up with volume, movement and light in objects and shapes without losing their perception; and, moreover, accent their expression.}

El retrato, de manera ocasional, y la figura humana, principalmente femenina, centra el tema de mi búsqueda plástica. Igualmente, los elementos de la naturaleza (flores, hojas, rocas, cielo, árboles, troncos, animales) inspiran mis composiciones, trazos y paleta. Al mismo tiempo, y sensible a la crisis en mi país, involucro el tema social, resaltando valores de unión, igualdad, inclusión, tolerancia. Como medio de expresión, mis composiciones deben invitar a valorar las cosas simples y bellas de la vida.

I am a drawer and a painter. I like graphite and color pencils to draw, but whatever thing that leaves its mark works fine for me. I get along with acrylics and watercolors to bring “life” to canvases and paper. On this stage, I resort to color intensity, simple geometric lines, freehand (no instruments whatsoever), and superposition of figures to create volume with light and shadows, dimensional conflicts and dialogues amongst graphic representations. My challenge is to keep on exploring and discovering a language that summarizes and purifies the search of making something apparently contradicting, into something absolutely harmonic and eloquent.

Portraits, from an occasional way, and the human figure, mainly female, centers my artistic search. Furthermore, the elements of nature (flowers, leaves, rocks, the sky, trees, logs, animals) inspire my compositions, lines and palette. In the same way, and with regards to my country’s crisis, I get involved in the social aspect, highlighting the values of unity, equality, inclusion and tolerance. As a way of expression, my compositions must invite to appreciate the simple and beautiful things of life.
