Hey there! I run an NBA YouTube channel and just found out about Steemit
How's it going fellas? My name's Andy and I run a YouTube channel (100k+ subscribers) about basketball. If you were interested in basketball and sports in general, my channel is www.youtube.com/AndyHoops
I found out recently that one of my favorite creators on YouTube, the Hodge twins, came over to Steem and wanted to try it out as well. Over the next few days, I'll probably be uploading some of my newer videos here and start writing some more posts as well - whether it's about sports, life, content creating, or pretty much anything else!
I'm not too sure how this platform works right now, but I think I'll just start things off by talking about myself for a bit. I'm 24 years old and currently work in the New York City area. I'm basically in the programming/QA/app development business, and I'm cool with it, but I've also been working on a lot of side projects. I'm hoping in the near future, I can turn my hobbies and passions - like talking about sports, writing, and creating content - into a full-time career!
On my page, I plan to write some posts about my own experiences in the digital media business and some of the mistakes I've made during the process of trying to build up my brand (and trust me...there's been a lot of mistakes). YouTube is extremely competitive and cutthroat nowadays, with a ton of creators losing their ads with the whole "ad-pocalypse" ordeal, and as a result - they end up losing a good chunk of income if they've been relying on it to pay the bills. I'm sure many have heard of issues that creators have faced over the past few years, but some issues go beyond just the YouTube platform itself.
I thought it would be interesting to talk about topics like that, along with a bunch of other things that I haven't figured out yet haha. Anyway, nice to meet you guys and I hope we can get things rolling!
Andy
Welcome to Steem. I am sure you will get a feel for it fairly quick with your experience in QA and app dev.
If you contribute to open source repos on GitHub please check out https://utopian.io. You will earn massive amounts if you are a good dev with high motivation.
Also check out https://d.tube. The point of using the particular platforms above (they are both built on Steem) is for curation. They support content creators like yourself with increased visibility and payout.
I'll keep an eye on your blog. Good luck
Thanks, glad to be here! And yeah I've checked out D.Tube recently and actually uploaded a couple of videos already, but the upload time seems to freeze up a lot
Also since you like basketball I’d recommend a visit to SteemIt’s basketball section(https://steemit.com/trending/basketball)
Welcome!
Awesome to have you here Andy. Always love having NBA fans join Steemit because it's a pretty small and niche group right now. Would love to collaborate on some NBA pieces if you're interested. Hit me up on Steemit.chat if you have any questions or want to chat about NBA stuff.
What's your YouTube channel?
