On Sunday, February 4th of this new year, masses will flock to their televisions to watch and see which two football teams will win the high or low share amount of bonuses' split between each player. This year I will be scheduled for the Local, amongst others to build the various stage builds under (fingers crossed) heated tents surrounding the perimeter of the U.S. Bank Stadium for the entertainment of billionaires which has already been estimated out to "1 million" visitors. Stagehanding entails a wealth of different fields along with requirements and certifications for a specific task at hand; props, steel, pushers, lighting, audio, video, to semis, forklifts, uprigging, downrigging and so on. One of the twelve very critical factors is being aware, not only for yourself but the safety of your fellow workers around you. The knowledge is often intended to be handed from the "A listers" down to "E listers" stemming from their previous teachers within this trade. In the next few weeks, Minneapolis will be the host city for Superbowl 52 and I cannot say how many people we will have to encounter on the gigs we chose. I can only picture these headless chickens or our leaders running around in a pool of their own blood, scrambling in a panic to gather everything before the big day. Within the two-week span of "Nordic" fun and events, Minnesotans plan to band together in numerous protests' against the City for inflicting their corruptness and greed upon the ones who call Minneapolis, MN home. In 2017, more than 70 different restaurants and businesses have permanently closed their doors to the public, some still vacant due to the uprise of (gentrification) where we will be forced to become accustomed to. On Facebook events, the most comical one is on Friday, February 2nd; "Dress Up Like A Bird And Run Into The Glass At US Bank Stadium" starting at 6 pm at the Stadium. What I have to address is good luck getting past the high-breaches of security if you are not a game day ticket holder, volunteer, or worker. Then the two weeks of an American sports time is over, all these high roller travelers, families, whoever will pack up their items of luggage and go back to their daily routines, reminisce yet boasting about their experience here in the Twin Cities. Gear up! It's going to be a bitch.
