Thanks, its clear now after everyone's support that this is still a big community even though some things I read indicated that it was a dying platform. I'm going to try and get as many people I know to join. Followed you.

Awesome!

There's a very active user base, it's just a matter of finding it. The discord chat is where we gather daily and really connect. I myself am mainly active in the #naturalmedicine / #mindfullife Discord and a server called #deepshit / beawesome but I'm also part of a community called #tribesteemup.

It's a matter of installing discord, creating an account and joining the groups that fit you. I feel you would fit the mindful life community, so let me know if you're interested and I can send you an invite to join ;>)

discord is where we all help new users to get to understand the platform and where we make ( possible ) life long friendships.

See you around!

I would like to add to the great advice @vincentnijman shared. I am a new user, but have found a welcoming community pretty quickly. I am slow to learn the ins and outs of Steemit, discord and crypto in general, but the one thing I did do that helped was study the active tags. I wrote down all of the tags that seemed to have a lot of Steem payout, and found the ones that fit my personality. Then, when I posted, I made sure to include those tags. People who have the same interests as me were able to see my content and we were able to connect and lift one another up. There is something for everyone here. Find the established tags, make genuine comments on other people's posts, and go from there. Welcome and enjoy the community! 🌱
