I created my steemit account 6 days ago because my brother, @iamblake, told me I needed to check out “The New Reddit”. My first response was to Youtube it. Come to learn that what I have stumbled upon might be.. just maybe.. the future.
You’re telling me that I can interact and post in a decentralized, forum style, cryptocurrency based.. new and improved reddit?!
Over the last five to eight years we have watched FascistBook sell our identities to corporations, twitter become a tattle-teller, and the reddit moderators micromanage and censor the hell out of our beloved site. This new platform not only solves the issues of its predecessors but its gonna give me a few bucks to partake?!
There are not enough hours in the day for me to be going from tab to tab wading through bullshit to find a good forum or review about the given topic I am learning about, whether that be Cryptocurrency, Veganism, cycling, or new destinations to explore.
It really is beautiful what Steemit is doing for all of us in terms of enlightening and sharing our stories and lives.
So I introduce myself.. My name is Luke. Skywalker was taken so I went with @c00lhand. I live in California. I enjoy riding my bike, running and eating a plant based diet.
