Nitroducing. A bike life post.
Hi Steemit. I am writing this text with google translate and at all not a great level of english, so dont break your eyes =)
This is my first post where id like to introduce myself. I am working at one of Moscow datacenter as a virtualization engineer, and i found this job very boring. Also i intrested in cryptocurrency, and smart contracts, think it can change a lot of things in life.
But the series of two or three posts that i want to post here is about motorcycles that i had and motor life in Moscow, the biggest hobbie in my life.
First motorcycle i owned was a GSX-R 400SP. I bought it at september in 2008 year, i was 19y.o. at the moment. Hard to describe how happy i was. My mom arranged scandal when i show it to her, dad did not told a word =))) So from that moment september is my favorite time to ride. Chill wind, bright sky, thick clouds.
It was a bike i learned to ride on, but it had a lot of technical issues, so i quickly sold it to get another one, the Suzuki GSF400.
It were not so bad at all, i ride everywhere, met a lot of people riding bikes across Moscow. I then change it on the same GSF400 but with read cylinder head, cause it produce more power at RPMs higher than 7000. Here is the photos of both of them.
I dropped them on asphalt some times cause i was still not a qualified rider, but the protective cage worked well, and about me - i did not break anything =)
Whith these bikes there were a one problem at those moment. At the stop line when the green light turns on, all other bikes just made .. whooooo.. and leave me far behind of them.
And the last straw was the fact that BMW 740 which weight is about 2 tons just ride away from me after about 80km\h at the flat empty road. I realized that i can no longer endure such a intorelable offense and start to look something bigger than just a 400cc engine. Winter has come and i started to dream about bigger cubage engine.
Next season i found not expensive GSXR750 on a motorcycle trading site. After selling GSF400 and earn some money during winter i decided to buy it. It was a quet difficult to find something in good condition at the start of moto season, cause all god bikes were already sold out.
I go to the seller, sat on this bike, we talk a little with seller about something, i start the engine, turn the first gear and just ride straight.. and then i decide to turn some gas...
Goddamn! What an acceleration. I did not realize what for it need more than two first gears, cause on gsf400 i ride with maximum speed 170km\h at 6th gear. And this one can go 150km\h on a second gear, and what for it has more than four gears was the riddle. Just great! To say the least of it i was delighted.
From that moment i had nothing else to interest from seller about this motorcycle, i just forgot the words. And also forgot everything that i wanted to pay attention to(the bike is not brand new at all). After i pay him and left on my new motorcycle, i ride to home, and then just sat in front of it and look about 15 minutes. I really scared to ride on it, it was too powerful for me. First time i had a 400cc habit to open gas a lot. This 750cc needs to open gas less more, so at first time the rear tyre just slid from road in corners. If i open gas full it starts to offload the front tyre, was a real scared behavior for me. What for this bike have gears higher than 3 i comprehend long enough.
Of course the bike was not brand new, and has a lot of technical issues. He eat not only petrol, but about 1 liter of oil on 1000 km of mileage. The steering bearing start to jiggle the clip-ons when i released hands. Once i caught a hard wobbling at a speed more than 120kmh, i prepared to fall and starting to getting fracutres, but the bike suddenly calm down after i pressed a litte on front brake. I think it look kinda sick from the side of people walking on sidewalk of waterfront where it did happen. The wobbling were hitting the clipons from one side of gas tank to another. There were no more scary situation for me (for those time haha).
So.. the season goes on, after a month or two i try the max speed on the long distance between two cities. It was about 260km\h. The speed is not a goal i chase, but its intrested for me so i always try to check it if in convinient place.
At some moment i wanted to learn to do wheelie, and starter to search information about "how to" in internet. Wathed lots of videos, read texts, and decided to try, but not on this motorcycle. I thought in is not enough powerfull to make power whellie at the moment of acceleration. Sure i know that whellie can be done on any bike with cluthc, but i scared to do clutch whellie cause i think it quet extreme cause of a more risk of turnover.
So in my head were a new idea, to buy Fireblade 929 as a a most suitable bike to do such a tricks. It has enough of power, enough of brakes and it is not expensive to break around on asphalt. For those time money does matter for me because i was a student (however today it is still matter :D).
I hope you like the story. Next post i will tell you about my Honda 929 and a Kawa ZX-10R.
