In The Words Of Jessie J - I've Dated Girls & I've Dated Boys - Get Over It!! :) :)
Hey guys and gals, Chatterbox Chick here in the Steemit House, aka Bren, aka Busby, aka Lapata (Paws in Bulgaria, relating to the tats on my t*ts:) Yes that's me on the left, enjoying a night out at a club in Bulgaria with my good friend Gigi.
I was born and live in the UK, I spent most of my childhood in care, which wasn't nice but I don't talk about it much anymore, I'm nearly 20 years old and would much prefer to look towards my future instead of dwelling on my past...
I have been on Facebook for years but the time has come to have some intelligent interactions with you guys on Steemit, without people posting pictures of their dinner (I've done it myself)
I hope to improve my writing skills and find some inspiration on Steemit for my comedy writing. I also hope to earn a few pounds to help attend Comedy School in London, hopefully that's not a pipe dream :)
The Things I Love
I LOVE LOVE LOVE my tattoo's and piercings, I have 11 tats and 4 piercings and plan to have more done when I have the money, I can't show all of them, a whole different website is needed lol :)
I LOVE food, I enjoy most cuisines but you can't beat a good old fashioned Full English Breakfast, it's great for a hangover! (Old Facebook Habit Posting My Breakfast & Dinner, Sorry:)
I LOVE hanging out with friends who are my family.
Almost 2 years ago, I had just turned 18, I headed off to Sunny Beach Bulgaria, to work a summer season in the sun. I quickly found a job, well several jobs, working for the same guy, which came with a room. I worked in a sex shop, a cafe and a bar. One day I was working in the bar when a car screeched to a halt outside, out jumped some guys in balaclava's and opened fire in the bar. I was serving five Scottish boys on their first lads holiday abroad at the time, suddenly this security guard threw himself over us to shield us from the bullets, he was hit in the leg!!
The guy they were after was a Drug Lord, who was drinking in the bar, along with three bodyguards. (I didn't know this at the time), he was seriously injured and one of his bodyguards was shot dead. There were several other people who were injured. The story made the news back in the UK and the five Scottish lads gave an interview. One of them summed up the shooting quite well - "Aye, it was scary, my pants needed changing, put it that way" Yep I'm with him on that one!
While I was waiting for my account to be approved, I set out to find out as much about Steemit as I could, so this part is a big thank you, to those people, I feel have helped me understand the platform the most, with a bit of, The Good, The Bad & The Ugly thrown in!!
Jeff aka @dollarvigilante interviews the gaffers of Steemit @dantheman and @ned - excellent interview if you haven't already watched it :)
There are so many posts I have read over the past week which have touched me, far too many to list here, I copy any I like into a notepad, then have a good read, better than any TV program. Finally I want to share one last post with you, it resonated with me because of my own upbringing in care. This post lead me to a Steemit Group called @familyprotection which highlights the awful way, in which Child Protective Services, on a worldwide level abuse families by taking their children away for no reason. I read a few posts which left me quite tearful.
Introbot is hosted and managed with donations from @byColeman to help make your journey on Steemit truly rewarding. Your feedback is always welcome so that we may improve this welcome message. Oh yea, I have upvoted you and followed you. Many blessings from @introbot & @bycoleman
What a bang girl. You did well in your intro so loving your style. The narratives are quite apt & your comedy style is interesting. Do keep up with such contents you promised us here. I sent so many tips last month on how to succeed here follow me and scroll to find them. Quite useful for new users. And also learn other useful avenues to blog here like eSteem app, busy.org, beta.chainbb, for comedy stuffs check out dmania.lol and dtube plus dlive for videos. So many fun here girlfriend. Enjoy
wow what an intro. so loving your post already. genuine content reign supreme here seems you did your hoe work well.
do try and engage more girl. build your followers and start with fewer posts and up it once you have more followers. study related tags and tag relevant ones. remember, do not go for big tags, there are lesser active ones that can display your post in hot and trending.
look into competitions for minnows and join, have fun here which is the esence and follow successful steemians who are ready to guide like @kenhudoy
and more importantly, keep off spammers and follow for upvote junkies.
Your narratives are quite interesting. we need a full story in one of your posts about your Bulgaria experiences. quite like an action movie! For that dance, hmmm....a blast. but try and add the citation next time.to avoid steemit cheetah ;)
welcome and keep it coming.
Ooooo @kenhudoy thanks for the tips - I feel like you just slapped me on the wrist about the citation, I did try to add the URL's of both videos, however I ended up with both videos twice!!! I have soooo much to learn, haven't even started looking at tags yet, any decent tutorials you know of maybe? This went right over my head "keep off spammers and follow for upvote junkies" What does this mean? :)
Well many spammers will send in your direct wallet 0.001 sbd asking you to pay for resteem , this or that. Avoid totally. I think for me best to use and post is busy.org. you can use their options better for adding links for citations by highlighting the section you wanna cite. Makes the work smoother. Don't worry as you blog along you perfect. Join steem chat. Maybe one of these days we see on chat so I tutor you better on how to do such things. I know you make it fast here cos you got both ' beauty & brains' which top steemians support. And as I see it, you willing to use what you got to get to the top 😋
Welcome to steemit @chatterboxchick how are you? I'm happy to see you here and I wish you all the best and for you to be successful on this platform, keep it up and see you around. =)
Hey @purepinay thanks for stopping by, I'm really good thanks, how are you? I'm feeling all grown up on here compared to Facebook, I've read some cracking posts and feel like I'm getting an education :) xx
Very entertaining introduction! And what can I say about that wonderful mention... Thank you very much, that was too kind. I will remember that.
Typical reaction from the Scotish, lol. Make me think of the terrorist that tried to blow up a scottish airport. The guy set himself alight with his own explosive and then got kicked in the bollocks by a local. You couldn't make it up!
As you are a comedienne, I will offer you my favourite performer. Steve Hughes "While it's still legal" Has me in tears every time. What is your favourite comedy set?
Hey @article61 thanks so much for stopping by, I was up until after 4 this morning reading posts tagged with @familyprotection, I blame you for my lack of sleep lol. Some heart wrenching stuff I can tell you. Love the terrorist joke :) I'm a budding comedienne at the moment, have been writing a lot of material over the last 8 months, I'm yet to stand on the stage yet so I may do that next time I'm in London. I love a lot of comedy and comedians, the classics such as the Carry on Films, Tommy Cooper, Norman Wisdom, Will Hay, Dara O'Briain, Lee Evans, I love Sitcoms, and would love to write one some day :) I have heard of Steve Hughes but never watched him, I will see if I can find "While it's still legal" online :)
Was up late too. Yes there are some great authors and harrowing accounts on @fp. Well good luck when your first attempt arrives. There is the discord channel and I am sure you could do an audio routine on there. It a service connected with steemit. I'll send you a link if you want one? Great choice of comics, but I suppose it all personal taste. I watched a guy at a festival who stood on stage and just shouted "Up there!" and other random comments. 5 minutes in and the whole crownd where shouting at him, to get off stage. After he finished, the mc came back and told us that that is exactly what he wants from his act/audience.... He ended up getting a double-decker(chocolate-bar) advert with that character. Don't get it myself.
I once had to do some community service(Fighting, drunk of coarse). I chose to help the elderly and work with kid at weekend clubs. It was a fantastic experience and where I found out that I was "good with kids" as they used to say. Aside from that was the characters I met on the way. You could fill a book with stories of those days. Very funny moment was when we took some old-dears around a local market and I wheeled one up to a dvd stall. 3 rows back and it was a line of porn videos that you could not miss! She loved em and we had a right giggle about it. Mucky old lady ;) Always thought that would make a good sitcom
Lol you can't beat mucky old ladies :) I will be one some day, I plan on growing old disgracefully :) An audio routine sounds good, however, I feel more comfortable around people, in a room, I will think about it though :) Can you send me the link anyway please? I could do a lion bar advert, I have the paws lol. I'm sure I will probably have a run in or 2, drunk, in future. I will be posting my story on @fp I may do it in 1 part or split it into 2, not sure yet. I can only speak about my experiences as a child in the system, I don't know much about the system itself, although I am learning with everything I have read, I even find myself questioning stuff that's happened over the years. Oh well, no time to dwell, thanks for all your help :)
HaHa me too, gonna be a spaced-out old timer. I'm not sure I'd be brave enough for stand-up, it must be good when you get everyone laughing though? Have you wrote out a routine?
That sounds a good approach to write about what you are experienced in and then it will come more naturally and should be very useful for someone to read. My mum work within the SS, but isn't a social worker. She does visits before the ss go in and she doesn't want to believe what I tell her. When it is an account from someone who actually went through it, it becomes undeniable and then my mum will be wiser for it. You have made the world a better place just through writing an article :) Very brave of you all to share your experiences.
Yes I will send you a link. You should come listen to the mspwaves broadcast. I was up all night talking and listening to the people on the show. Great way to get to know some good people. discord - family protection discord - mspwaves
There are loads more discord groups for every genre, but I like the msp one a lot. They made me feel very welcome last night.
Just remember to read the pinned posts at the top of the page. Oh, and the app is a lot better than the browser version.
See you around :)
Cool thanks for the heads up @article61 I will check them out. I haven't got a routine yet but I do have pages and pages of observations which I will turn into a routine. I have been spending time on @dlive as I'm a bit of a game nut, I'm thinking of doing something on that platform. Your mum will only see what she wants to see, along with the rest of society in her age group, she grew up in an age where you didn't question anything, even if there was evidence to prove otherwise, today, we are taught to question everything, which I always do, it's a tough world we live in, dog eat dog for sure!! (didn't mean to disrespect your mum, sorry) :)
Welcome to steemit, am sure that you will be a big success here. As a new members, do check out my older posts for tips on how to succeed here. I wish you success
