RE: Hello, Steemit! I am Cosmoose.

Thanks, and yes I'd love to explain. I think it's natural to wonder about the natural mechanisms that give us the ability to see, hear, touch, smell, and taste as well as the conscious experience we have as a result of our senses. How does this come about? What is the minimum requirement for something to be conscious? Can consciousness be simulated by a classical computer? Quantum computer?

These are all fascinating questions to me. It is my prediction that once we have an agreed upon definition for consciousness, we will be able to look back in the past and point at a date where machines "achieved" consciousness. Why are you interested in consciousness? Any other thoughts/predictions?

I'm interested in consciousness because it's interesting, and for as long as I can remember, I've always wondered why I'm here and what I'm supposed to do. You know, the big "what is the meaning of life" question. I never thought about it in terms of machines.
