Not the STEEMer you need but rather the STEEMer you deserve...

Hello -

My name is Josh Cotham (yes, like Gotham.)  I am born, raised, and still live in Nashville, Tennessee.  I am an avid investor in cryptocurrencies, and that is what had me stumble across STEEM.  After doing some slight digging, I quickly bought into the strategy and vision for the community platform.  I'm excited about the prospect of soaking up some knowledge and experience from all the various users, and hopefully be able to share some of mine in tidbits along the way.  That being said, it's a good transition to provide some facts on myself:

Graduated from Lipscomb University with MBA in corporate management and now work in healthcare IT.  What drew me to Lipscomb was an athletic scholarship offer and opportunity to play D1 college athletics.  Most of my career was riddled with injuries, long rehab stints, and a complete shift in how I viewed nutrition and training.  Not many come back from labrum surgery to pitch again at same strength level, but I was actually able to recover from 2 labrum surgeries, and a partially torn UCL, to have one very successful year.  Below is my favorite photo from my career (anyone a little educated in baseball should pick up on why it means a lot to me.)

The only reason I bring all this up is to set context on some of my hobbies/passions.  Before my surgeries I was about 235lbs.  I consulted with some trainers and doctors, and they stressed to me the healthier you get before surgery the easier you make it on your body to recover.  This opened up a whole new world for me in nutrition, movement training, yoga, alkaline water, and other bio-hacking implements.  I dropped to around 190lbs prior to surgery, and I truly believe this is why I was the outlier in labrum surgery statistics.

Since then, I've never looked back.  Some of my hobbies and things I can contribute to the community from experience are:

- Ketogenic lifestyle
- Nutrigenomics
- Movement training (e.g. go YouTube some 'Ido Portal' videos... he's my training hero)
- Investing (been avid small-cap biopharma for a while, but cryptocurrency is quickly taking over my portfolio :D)
- Romanised Stoicism (a man's life is what his thoughts make of it)
- My daughter turns 1 tomorrow, so I might throw in some stories/photo of her... I apologize ahead of time.

There are more areas than this, but I despise sitting and making lists.  So, this is where I leave you until next time.

Cheers!

Wow, that is an introduction Josh. Hats off to you for recovering from 2 labrum surgeries, and a partially torn UCL. Your passion for the game shines through.

I have not read any articles about Nutrigenomics or a Ketogenic lifestyle on Steemit yet. My family are health enthusiasts in the Naturopathic field. I look forward to hearing more from you. Upvoted and followed.

Wow, quite a story.
