RE: “So a pastor walked into a puff of STEEM one day” Who is this @GenXRev?

Brother Eric,

Your visit to my blog today was a delightful surprise.

Thanks for your kind words there. Welcome to Steemit. I'm pleased to make your acquaintance here, and hope to get to know you better.

Thanks for sharing your personal prayers/psalms with us. I've upvoted some.

If you have a chance to explore my blog some, you'll find that I'm an outspoken believer in Jesus. He permeates my life, no matter what I'm writing about.

Please stay in touch. ;)

Blessings!

The warmth that glows in the writing I've already seen carries through in your greeting here. I will absolutely come around to soak. I'll invite you to feel free to do the same as you are able. Well met and though we have only just done so... I feel you to indeed be friend.

OK, @genxrev,

I'm enjoying seeing your Reputation score climb, even as I watch... :D

I hope to make some introductions. Please get to know @globocop, @johnjgeddes, @dreemsteem, @lydon.sipe, @countrygirl... in no particular order.

Blessings!

Well then... Any brother of @creatr would also be a brother of mine.

(We have the same Dad. 😊)

Loved your introduction and will be happy to upvote and resteem. I have the same problem as you... I've spread my votes all around and it's worth little (monetarily) but big in love and respect and warmth! So you'll have that too!

Looking forward to reading some prayers, and excited to get to know you more!

Blessings,
@dreemsteem 😊

Hiya, So good to meet you! Met @creatr last night and now you today. Thank you too for your kinds words and affirmation. I too look forward to getting to know you better. I'd already had some interactions with @johngeddes and also just yesterday a bit with @lyndon.sipe too... the community here is really quite something and I feel really blessed to have been welcomed in.

Peace and look forward to talking more.

from me too!! Welcome Rev. Thanks for a great introduction. I wish above all things that you prosper and be in good health, even as your soul prospers. I've resteemed this intro and followed. (Deborah)

Thank you so much Deborah! I hope that you find these creations able to serve your soul well.

it really is an extraordinary community! i was away for a bit and just came back a little while ago - and the "welcome home" was sweet and warm! :) i think you'll find the same heart here (because you exude that heart!) there are ups and downs... and there are moments of real frustration! hahaha steemit is still a work in progress, and it really is what we make it! so brace yourself for those moments that make you wonder why you're even here... hahahaha if you're ready for them, you'll be able to persevere through them! :)

Just this morning I was thinking a great deal about just HOW warm the welcome has been... I mean I'm a complete stranger among you all and yet with a few brief comments in various places it's like a door was just opened for me and I'm ushered right to the dinner table to dine with you all. Feels odd but in the good way of odd. I can see that this is a group that truly is looking out for one another and it seems almost a contrast to many other gatherings of people I've been in. Like I said... it has been good and folks like yourself offering kind words, encouragement but also opening the door for the possibility of actual friendship to develop, it is kind of rewriting much of what I'd always thought about "social media" up until now.

yeah.... it's strange. i deactivated my facebook (nothing against facebook - just not really the platform for me..) about 3 weeks ago? it seems like other social media platforms don't really allow you to delve so deeply into another person's life. It's not like that for everyone here of course! Some like to keep it light and keep it moving. hahahaha But it's almost like you're in a room full of books. Some are magazines, some are novels, some are travel guides, some are journals... etc. You just find your section... and sit down :) With facebook (or any other "surface" platform) you don't REALLY get to see the person. You see a version of what they want you to see. But here - there are a lot of records just lying around... unlocked and open for people who care to read the pages. If you take the time to read them... you'll be rewarded with people who are genuinely interested in making connections. Sometimes you can read it in a post, sometimes in a poem, sometimes see it in their photography.... just a really special platform where you can make real connections if you're willing to sift a bit :)

You state well how I feel after this first week. The connections have more of a weight to them than much of what something like Facebook has been. Now that’s not to say that I do not appreciate FB for being a place I can get sort of the more day to day stuff of my actual friends, but a lot of what it seems to be is the as you say surface stuff that just sort of dissipates no sooner than it’s put up. I can see a place for each, but there is a difference. I wonder if it’s the nature what it seems really thrives on as a platform to truly create things others will value? I’ll have to think on that some more.

You'll find all sorts of people here. Not everyone wants to make quality posts :) hahaha

But when I find the keepers.....i keep them :)

And yes... Other social media sites fulfill a role. This one tends to lend itself to more meaningful interaction. (IF you have the time for that lol)

Hey brother,

I noticed in another post of yours you had mentioned that you are on discord... if I wanted to lightly pester you about some questions I have after my first week here on Steemit... a) would you be open to letting me do so and b) if you are, is Discord the best method to do so? and if "yes then c) how would I find you there... I'm on Discord, but it is a fairly new thing to me so I would have to figure out how to make that connection. I don't want to thread jack, anywhere but have some questions for someone who has been around for a while. Let me know when you get a chance. Peace
@genxrev

a) More than open, positively delighted...
b) We can connect on Discord, and discuss other options.
c) On discord I am @creatr#0884

thank you so much... I've been wondering if there was any good way to bounce things off others in something more akin to "real time" - I'll look you up soon. It may be coming from someone named PreacherMan1971 (but honestly don't even know for absolute certainty what my Discord name is) - I'll find ya and thanks a bunch

Great! :D

Thanks for the introduction @creatr!! You are such a good friend.

More than welcome, my dear... ;)
