So I Guess I'd Best Say "Greetings"!
Greetings Steemians!
So, I've actually been a member of this wonderful community for 9 days now and thought I had better make a proper introduction of myself instead of coming across as being some weird stalker that has been commenting and upvoting other fine people's work!
First off, I have to say I that I amazed by the Steemit community. Steemit (for me) feels like a bastion of intelligence and integrity amidst a shitstorm of trolls and other miscreants that can be found online. It feels like the calm after a storm. Now I know every community has rotten eggs, but from what I have seen, has made me feel proud to say that I am a member of the Steemit community, makes me want to produce good content and makes me want to promote and encourage others to use it also.
So Who Am I?
Well, I'm a 32 year old beard wearer (Yes, a man) from the UK, nestled away on the coast in the South West, lucky enough to be living near some of the best beaches and natural hot-spots that the UK has to boast. I have lived a varied and eclectic life, working in various industries ranging from serving in the Royal Navy, to construction in Spain, all the way to factory management.
I have been lucky enough to see many places in the world, and among my favourite so far has been Japan. I lived there for a year, and the culture and way of life left me mesmerized and captivated by the complete difference to the western world.
My hobbies are as varied as my life has been, but I am mostly a collector, of which range from gold, silver and copper, to cryptocurrencies and things like POP! Vinyl (See image). I am a massive comic fan and have been in love with Deadpool for most of my adult life. Again, I collect comic stuff, because I. Am. Nerd.
I like all things tech, like crypto mining and drone racing. I have recently become heavily interested in REAL BBQ and would love to compete in BBQ events around the UK or maybe even the WORLD!. I still enjoy using my hands and would like to explore Blacksmithing a lot more and arty things such as concrete countertops and concrete garden features.
What Do I Bring To Steemit?
I have experienced all manner of things in my short, crazy life so far, so I would like to think my posts, comments and banter will be entertaining, if not slightly amusing. I am known to be slightly mad, but will try to keep things civil.
I don't want to stick to one niche in particular so my writings may be random or different each time, but hopefully some of you will like the way I write. I'd like to write on things like Trading, Investing, Bizarre life experiences, The unknown, Tech and anything else I come accross that's interesting.
I am dedicated to helping others, always have been and as such have thrown myself into helping new people as a member of the #minnowsupportgroup. With this great team, i'd like to think I can help lots of new people on a daily basis and help nurture and encourage new authors to the platform.
My Steemit Goals
Being in to self development I believe everyone should have goals, and joining and participating within a community platform like Steemit should be no different. I am here for the long term, so my goals may appear ambitious, but hey, we all need to work towards something!
- Within 6 months have 1000 followers
- Within 6 months have 1000 STEEM POWER
- Bring 3-5 new people to Steemit every single week
- Publish AT LEAST 3 quality articles a week
- Help at least 1 minnow a day
I'll update and edit my goals as I go along, some may change, some may get even more grandiose, that will depend on progress, but I am certainly looking forward to the challenge ahead!
So there's me in a nutshell, i'm sure I'll get to know many of you overtime and I really look forward to networking and meeting new people, reading some awesome stuff and helping where I can. This really is a gem of a community and opportunity, which we are all very fortunate to be a part of.
Thanks for the read, feel free to Upvote, Comment & Resteem!

I liked your description of trolls and other miscreants that can be found online. Nice choice of words! I don't know about Japan, but you are lucky enough to live in the UK. Been there a few times and I'm currently looking for a decent excuse to spend some money on another trip!
Also, I will be checking the support group as most of time I have a feeling I don't know what I'm doing here.
By the way, nice beard you got there!
Thank you for the kind words @ladyrebecca!
I guess we are lucky here, even if we moan about the weather, lol
Please do come and say hello in the channel, we'd be happy to help where we can!
Much beardy love, CB
Nice! That beard is legendary. I doubt I could grow one that thick even if I never shaved another day in my life. lol.
Surely you were happy with Ryan Reynold's portrayal of Deadpool?! I think he crushed it.
Thanks @doggedfi!
Yeah, absolutely, it was worth waiting 23 years to watch and now I can't see any other person portraying Deadpool, he absolutely nailed it, lol.
CHIMICHANGAS!
