Hello Crypto World — We are the CryptoChicks!

_ To accomplish gender equality, men and women need to stand together for the cause _

CryptoChicks is about improving the gender balance in the blockchain community by creating an environment where women feel safe to learn. We provide online and offline blockchain & cryptocurrency workshops, host events and organize women-only hackathons to give more ladies the opportunity to thrive in this space.

Our vision is international, and after one year of workshops and meetups across Canada, and a successful hackathon and conference last April, we’re now ready to open international chapters in USA, Russia, Pakistan, Bahamas… but more on this later on!

Why was CryptoChicks created?

The motivation for forming the group was fairly obvious: the underrepresentation of women at major cryptocurrency gatherings and within the tech industry in general.

We believe that women’s involvement will help blockchain realize its enormous potential as an instrument of positive change in the world.

Recent studies have shown that women account for less than 10% of the community. The earliest adopters of Bitcoin were primarily male PC gamers and cyberpunks community members. And even though the technology evolved since then, the gender imbalance is still present, and it might be threatening its ability to attain mass adoption.

Who can be a CryptoChick?

Female investors, female entrepreneurs, women involved in technology, female corporate managers, career ladies, housewives, grandmothers, and all other women who heard about the hype around cryptocurrencies and want to learn more and possibly invest or use it in their business or job, but need a way to get started.

We connect these women to mentors who have been working with the blockchain technology and entrepreneurs in this space who are ready to share their experiences and teach the best practices.

Blockchain has the potential to change everything we do, from personal finance, to doctors visits to voting and this is why we need a diversity of minds in the space to collaborate and push the boundaries of this new technology.
