Who am I? Answered...

Who am I?

This question has resonated with me since I can remember and I'm sure you all can agree. It's a pretty hard one.

Less than a week ago I joined the steemit community and explained who I am and what I will be doing on my page in a brief summary, but now I will answer the question of who am I…

So this is the story of me... Dale (Also known as Dallas to close friends)

Me in a nutshell...

Proudly born South African

I was born a proud South African. Grew up in small fisher community on the coast and developed a love for traveling and touring at a very early age. The first memories of my life that come to mind is me in the car with my parents driving to a remote location to go camp and spend the holidays.
During my years of growing up I developed the sense of creativity that I know today. I involved myself with a lot of different ways of expressing my creativity from the lines of art, writing, dance and even music (please bear in mind the only instrument I can play is the triangle so yeah…)
After all these years I finally found what I’m called for. Graphic Design.

My Profession

I’m a graphics designer by profession. I developed a love for this at an early age but only caught it in my college years where I had to be the creative one in all the group projects I was involved in.
Currently, I work as an entry-level graphics designer and marketing developer for a leading maritime training institute in South Africa and it has taken me on a journey to find myself.

My first ever attempt to draw something good

Traveller by heart

Now when I say, traveler, I don’t mean fly to all the corners of the world to experience that buzz feeling of traveling. No…
My traveling started around my country and to all the places you would not expect to have the atmosphere it did. Early in my life, I learned to love the road and the wilderness (this is what gave me the passion for designing).
I and my family have traveled to Namibia, Botswana, and Zimbabwe multiple times in my life and through the years I’ve experienced numerous cultures and destinations. From a luxury hotel on the riverside to the most isolated piece of land where you must scream for an echo because that’s the only sound of civilization you’ll hear.
And in all honesty, it was the isolated areas that gave me the best feeling/ buzz that I was traveling.

Life with Abundance

An abundance of experience and knowledge. On every corner, there is a lesson and this was the mindset I grew up with and this is the mindset I still go out with today.
Look at the object next to you… How did it get there? What materials is it made of? What caused it to be in existence… I’m not trying to be this deep, but its fun asking these questions.
Every moment in life has the opportunity to teach us a big lesson and the only thing we need to do is, accept it and learn from it.

In Conclusion

To bring this to an end of a thorough description of me, I’d like to say that this is not the last version of me.
As humans, we constantly grow and evolve in life, and every day we change and become either better or worse. It’s only a decision we can make and sometimes it’s a tough one but pushing through will always give you the sense of authority and power over your life.

• quotes and scriptures and how I perceive them,
• traveling and remarkable places to visit (Cape Town or in general)
• and many many more….
