Dan Tanner: The Music Man.

in #introduceyourself7 years ago (edited)

What am I? Who is this?

Well hello there! My name is Dan Tanner and I am a musician.

I am a man of many trades, but music seems to have always captured the essence of an experience that I have never had the words for. I dedicate an immense amount of my time to the learning and the teaching of music, but then I rarely have the time to listen.

I am currently pursuing an MA in composition and, with the reading of many books, you could say I know a thing or two about the applications of music. I am by no means an expert, and with music being a beast of almost infinite subjectivity, I may often be wrong in your eyes...or ears - Ha!

So, what's the plan, Dan?

Well, my fellow human (and non-human) readers, there are many things that I should like to indulge in within the realms and peripheral limitations of this blog. I will be exploring many things throughout my masters, and of course, my life. These things I should like to share, discuss, collude, and moreover, develop in a communicative manner with the least amount of pontification available within my pontification sack. Will you join me in the journey of a lifetime, a literal lifetime - my lifetime?

What to Expect...

I will be writing mainly about projects that I am currently undertaking, giving examples of my work, what I did, why I did it, why I cried afterwards. I will lay myself bare, stripped to the scruples of my musical self and open to all, and every, personal attack there can be - cruel to be kind, my fellow music lovers.

Within these little letters of musical exploration, I shall hopefully imbue a helpful lesson or moral, a tang of humour to keep your eyes open, and or a piece of music that you may not yet have heard.
If after all of this, you take something away with you, something that may make you better at whatever it is you use your earthly days to do, then I will have immortalised myself in your eyes...or in your ears...at least, that is, until you die.

Where do I fit into this?

Not everything is about you, gawd!

Truthfully, I would love your input. Anything that you yourself are working on, your opinions, your experiences, and don't feel left out if you know very little. Ask questions that you don't know the answers to and, if I also don't know the answer, I will try and get you that answer - like Jim'll fix it, but with music. I'm delving into some very interesting subjects and applications, get your two-pence in and 'show me what you got!'

Let the games begin!
Dan.

Hello @purepinay, thank you for the warm welcome, I hope to bring a vast dichotomy of musical discussion and entertainment to Steemit - baby steps first, though.
