New to Steem, Long time crypto user. I hope that I can both learn and teach for the community.

Good evening Steem users, I can go by two names, either earth or EarthBG. Both are completely acceptable. I like to write in a bit of a narrative, so the next few paragraphs are going to be a bit more formal than the rest of the post. I feel like it's a nice contrast to most of the introductions on Steem, so it can provide an interesting and maybe even thought provoking perspective on writing for Steem.

Everyone comes from different stretches of life, so I'm going to tell you a little bit about mine. Back in the early days of 2012, I was introduced to the world of cryptocurrency through an old webforum called SomethingAwful. I was straight out of high school at the time, scoffed at the idea and didn't think much of it until 2013. This was when the birth of DOGE, and Altcoins became the elephant in the room. Seeing that I actually could do something with this, I decided to try and become a daytrader, and a miner at the same time. After a few months of playing around, I shifted my interests into working harder torwards my degree as it would benefit me more than being a cryptocurrency trader. Well, here we are now four years later, and a lot has changed. I'm now knee deep in student loans, I've got a paper to prove my abilities as a computer engineer, and I have taken up multiple trades to take on the world. Coming back to the cryptocurrency world a few months before the Ethereum spike, I had realized my mistake of not keeping with the program by at least mining; I saw the success of my peers and what my measly 50 dollars worth of Doge would be worth now. I've decided to become a new active participant in the cryptocurrency world again, both mining and trading, and now posting content in Steem.

After that small backstory of where I am now, I have a few major goals for the foreseeable future. My absolute first priority is to tackle the monster of student debt in a modern world. This is something that many people take for granted, that their education is something that they can take as long as necessary to pay off, but in the competitive world in the United States, it is almost impossible to have student loans, rent, and daily expenses pile up and live a happy life. Where I live, you can only pick two of those options and live a decent life.

My secondary goal is to become a better writer. I began writing newsletters for a cryptocurrency investment group as our team was lacking in a scribe for the team newsletters, team guides, and our rules and regulations. Being that I wanted to take up the role to improve the rather poorly written existing content, I now am working to improve my patience as a writer as well as my skills.

My third and final main goal is to apply the skills I learned in university to both my hobbies and my career. Right now I work as a networking security administrator, I help protect people's data for many establishments across the united states. I also am an English tutor for ESL students overseas, as I wanted to help out other students like me when I was in university. I've only been able to apply my skills as an engineer for one or two small projects of mine, one of which was a real time digital audio effects box with visual output utilizing Raspberry Pi. I would love to push my abilities even further to work with larger companies like AMD or Intel, as processor architecture design was one of my favorite tasks to do in university.

Now that we are past the boring personal goals and ideals, we can get to the fun aspect of myself. I don't have many good pictures, and it is far too late for me to take a Steem sign picture, so you can have probably the best photo of me ever taken.

It was taken at a gaming LAN a year or so back, and It's one of the few pictures of myself that I can actually appreciate. From that alone, you probably could tell I have an interest in gaming, so if you are ever interested in playing games on Steam, you can message me on Steem (Wordplay.) I've been to multiple LAN events, as well as spectating major tournaments, which have prize pools in the millions. Secondly, I enjoy cosplay and anime. Both are guilty pleasures of mine, and I am relatively new to the cosplay game, but that is a craftsmanship battle. If you would like to see any anime related posts, please show some love and I will post up some content. Or if you even just enjoy my writing please let me know, I will write more according to what the community wants to see. If you don't feel like there is any content you want to read being represented, I will be glad to write some content for you.
