Howdy Steemit! Neels from Sunny South Africa here!

Hi Steemit. My name is Neels Conradie and I work full-time in the IT field as a Data Governance and Data Warehouse Manager.

But that is just my day-job. I have many more interests and hobbies that I would honestly much rather be doing. Don't get me wrong, I do love my job, and I am good at what I do, but it's not really my passion.

So here is, in no particular order, some of the favorite things I like to do in my spare time:

1. Koi Ponds. My cover image might have given me away here. I love having a Koi Pond in my garden. I love looking at them. I love finding a perfect Koi fish and keeping it for my self. I think you get the picture. I did after all use the word love 3 times!
   

2. Growing Clivias. Clivia is a slow growing plant you find mainly in South Africa that produces beautiful flowers once or twice a year. I enjoy raiding peoples gardens for seeds and then growing new Clivia plants from these seeds.
   

3. Science Fiction. Whether it is reading a good book, or watching a movie, if it is Sci-Fi, I'm there. I also lean towards the more hard-core Science Fiction writers like Isaac Asimov and Arthur C. Clarke. Right now I'm reading a series of books by Sean Platt and Johnny B. Truant. I'm busy with the third book in the series titles "Colonization". Riveting stuff!
   

4. Sport. Don't worry. I like Sport too! In particular I am a huge Rugby fan and lifetime supporter of my local team The Lions. Rugby is a Sport that might not be well known across the world but it is huge in South Africa. Our National team wears Green and Gold and is called The Springboks.
   

5. Technology. Last but not least. I'm a total Geek. I love all things to do with new technology whether it is online or not. I like to get involved early when I hear about new things. Bitcoin and the blockchain are one example. I have also gotten involved in some of the Alt coins, though to be honest I have not participated in any ICO's yet. I like to really understand things properly first before jumping in.

So that is me in a not so short nutshell! I am hoping to make some great new connections here and who knows, maybe even some friends.
