New to Steemit World

Hi y'all!

I'm glad to be a part of the Steemit community and to be able to share, what I hope to be, great stories to read.

Still trying to grasp a better understanding of how Steemit works, I've been reading through many posts from users around here, and I must say it's an entertaining place to be.

To share with you a bit of who I am, my name is Haley and I am from Southwest Virginia. I work as a Content Developer for a Software Company, but also delve in Web/UI/Graphic Design projects on the side. Four things I am most passionate about would be: Food, Travel, Fitness, Design.

Always trying to discover new recipes, I spend countless hours on Pinterest and watching the Food Network channel wrapping myself with inspiration and motivation to bake a delicious treat for friends and family. I hope to share with you all the many meals and baked goods I plan on making in the future.

As some would say, I have a travel bug. Being on the road, venturing off to distant cities and learning about different cultures has always been enticing to me. I've traveled half the distance of the U.S., from VA to Texas and back. I've visited Puerto Rico, Toronto, and Romania (with a delayed flight over in Germany, does that count?). My dream is to be able to visit many more states and even more countries around the world.

When it comes to staying in shape, I enjoy going to the gym. I used to be extremely fearful of the gym, feeling insecure about how I looked, not knowing how to use any of the equipment. But after going with friends, learning the correct form and technique used for some of the machines and weights, and keeping a confident look on my face, I've learned how to make the gym my friend. It's a place I go to unwind and destress, a place that helps to boost my confidence, and more importantly keeps me in shape so I can enjoy more tasty food.

Lastly, my passion for design has been something I had gotten into more recently over the years. I never knew what kind of career I felt that I should pursue until midway through college. I realized how important well-designed technology can be in today's world. Where everything is fast paced, you have 1 second to grab someone's attention before they move on to the next thing. Working on creating content, developing new sites, designing better interfaces is beneficial in promoting a product or service. It's all about sharing someone's story in a way that captivates the reader's attention and helps them to better understand who that person is and what they are all about.
