Hello Steem Community

My name is Charlie, I am a 20-year-old student from London, UK. I am currently studying Herbal Medicine and Naturopathy at The College of Naturopathic Medicine. I have been studying for two and a half years and I'm very driven to share the benefits of herbal medicine and living a healthy lifestyle with you. This is one of the main reasons I was drawn to steem, as it's a wonderful platform where I can share pieces detailing the information I am learning.
I'd love to create a community of people who are passionate about the healing power that mother nature has to offer. I hope to provide educational posts on the topic of herbalism, like a modern-day version of the great botanist and astrologer Nicholas Culpepper, who believed that herbal medicine is a skill to be shared with everyone. Become your own doctor and take your health into your own hands!
I have been following a vegan diet for the past 6 years and will be sharing my experiences and recipes. I believe in spreading the message of veganism as I feel there are many misconceptions about the lifestyle and people are sometimes over critical. I also acknowledge the unnecessary forcefulness of some vegans posts, I know they come from places of love, but they can be readily met with criticism as people feel they are being personally attacked for their way of living. Personally, I'm not judgemental of how people choose to live their lives, however, I still think it's a beneficial topic to learn about regardless of whether you are going to become vegan or not.
I have grown up in the countryside and nature is something that's very close to my heart and I strive to devote my life to protecting the beautiful world around us because, at the end of it all, the earth is all we really have. Recently I have challenged myself to severely limit, and ultimately eradicate, plastic from my life, so I will be sharing my views and helpful advice on this. I am very big on sustainability and living a life that is damaging to no living being or organism.

"For as long as man continues to be the ruthless destroyer of lower living beings, he will never know health or peace. For as long as men massacre animals, they will kill each other. Indeed he who sows the seed of murder and pain cannot reap joy and love from this earth"

Anyway...

I'm really looking forward to be sharing knowledge that I find exciting and beneficial to one's life.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my introductory post! If you have any questions or advice for me then feel free to ask :)

Welcome! Very interesting studies... Excited to see what you have to share :)

Thank you :) Hope you enjoy my posts! Will be sharing lots about medicinal plants :D

Looking forward to your recipes, have fun on steemit.

Thank you! They definitely will be coming soon :D I'm loving steem!

Welcome to steemit!
I am currently experiencing to benefits of herbal remedies. A few nights ago I was chopping kindeling for the overnight hearth fire when i chopped a nice chunk of flesh off of my hand near the bottom of my index. Certainely stitch worthy, infact the sight of it made me dizzy. As an anarchist, i have no health coverage and detest visiting hospitals unless it is completely nescessary. So we washed it out and dressed the wound with, stjons wort oil, plantain oil and sage infused honey.. Over night all of the sage flakes migrated into my wound forming a sage scab. Two days later and it is looking great with no signs of infection! I am however expecting a nasty scar, but i love scars. I digress, YAY HeRBS!
Looking forward to your future content.
(SMOKE BOMB!)

So sorry to hear about your hand, but glad you're enjoying the benefits of medicating naturally :) Thank you for your comment and for sharing your story, that sounds like an awesome mix of magic to heal a wound!

welcome home @herbalfaerie ! I also have this project to cut down the plastic! I wrote here several articles on it. I try to use as little as possible (make my own beauty products, don't buy unnecessary bags, etc).
I have several vegan friends. I have been a vegetarian for almost 10 years now and now I feel that a step is needed - towards eating meat or veganism, as there is no middle way here anyway :)

As I do my own beauty stuff, I also work with plants. Although never studied them. I love aromatherapy!

Would love to read you more. Now you get a vote fallow and a resteem from me so that more people can reach the fairy in you! :)

Thank you so much what a lovely message :) Followed you back and i'll definitely be checking out your posts on reducing plastic! :D Have you written anything on aromatherapy? Its something i know a little about but haven't gone into depth with it, would love to learn more! Look forward to reading your posts

Wow you have such much light and positivity.
I can't wait to see your next posts
I'm also all natural vegan but didn't have it figured out so young like you!
I'm new to steemit and follwing all new vegans.
Lets start a community of vegans!

Awh, thank you so much :) Yay for vegan community! Love the amount of open-minded people on here, its a great platform, i'm new to it as well, but it's great for inspiration and learning :D
Followed you back, exited to see what you have to post :)

Lovely to meet you. Have a few friends who've qualified as herbalists, probably from that college. Keep doing what you're doing and saying what you're saying. The life of a herbalist these days might come accross some obstacles, but its pretty essential that people keep training.

Awh that's amazing, love to hear that others are learning this valuable trade :) I agree that my subject is occasionally met with criticism from skeptics, but to me thats just more of a challenge to prove that nature can heal and it does work! Everything we need in this life is provided by mother nature

Hi @herbalfaerie, really enjoyed your intro post, I have alot of faith in the healing power of nature. so good to hear your commitment to living sustainably and looking after our beautiful home. There is a great community of like minded people on here. Resteemed

Hello! Lovely to meet you :D Thank you so much for sharing my post :) I've followed you, can't wait to read more of your posts :)

welcome! Looking forward to read more from you :)

Thanks, hope you enjoy it :)

Welcome to Steem it @herbalfaerie :)

Great introduction and it sounds like you will be a valued asset to the steemit platform. I have no intention of living a vegan lifestyle, but I would be very interested to read about someone who has. Who knows it might convince me to change my ways. That is what I like about steemit. You can dip in and out of peoples worlds and find out things you never knew existed. Good luck for the future and please feel free to tag your work with @team-solutions(my other profile) and I will promote your work for free. It would be great to have some medicinal solutions to put on the page.

Thank you so much :) Total respect for the way you choose to live your life, it's amazing that you're willing to learn and be open-minded to others thoughts though, I will be writing about my vegan experience soon!

Great stuff, I will keep an eye out for you. And thank you, life has many twists and turns so it is good to arm yourself with as much knowledge as possible. Maybe the distress and negative emotion does live on in the food I eat. If so then I want to know how to live without it. Like you said in your post, most of us come from a place of love whatever our angle is. It's nice to have a platform with open minded folk on it.
