Story from a Bored Guy (1) - The Beginning
Hey guys,
I am a guy in my mid-twenties who wants to tell a story... A long ass, potentially tedious, revelatory story.
I'm going to start pretty far back, 1993 to be exact. Somewhere in the muddy wet Danish countryside, I was born, the second of four children. There's not much I remember from those days, apparently, I spent my first two years living in the center of mainland Denmark, near a place called Viborg, but I couldn't tell you. The only thing I think I remember was driving to our new home in a small village up north, named Dybvad for anyone curious.
My mum and dad are farmers and bought their first farm in 1995, after spending most of their adulthood until then working for others.
So yeh we moved there and we were now a family of 5, my sister Ingrid, the oldest, was deaf, not born it or sort of was, it's a strange story and I'm not sure what or how it happened. The version I'm told is that during her birth the doctors failed to administer the oxygen in time, and therefore caused brain damage, which, fortunately, "only" led to her losing the ability to hear. I imagine it was tough on my parents in the beginning, my sister, not so much. She was fearless, smart and strong-minded, she tackled each and every obstacle seamlessly.
The same year we moved to Dybvad, my brother was born, Finn, he had a mahoosive head on him and a grin as far and wide as it was squint. He'd grow up to be the better looking of a sorry bunch. Finn was the active one, always working on a project of sorts, be it inside or outside, it rarely mattered.
Then in 98' the "mistake" popped out of mum's hoohah. Maybe not mistake but my dad has often said that he took matters into his own hands after Hans was born to prevent the fifth kid. And no, he did not threaten, kill or hurt anyone except himself potentially, I have no idea how painful the snip is. Had it been up to my mum we'd probably be ten-man strong. Nonetheless, Hans was the cheeky git of the family, he had a sly comment for every scenario and a master of the wind-up.
Then there's me the oddball, the quiet, socially awkward kid. I never really said much in my formative years, mostly due to the fact I first learned sign-language from my sister before I could say a word. Even in spite of that, I was never big on speaking, especially at family occasions, so I mainly I just did whatever my siblings felt like doing and then when shit hit the fan I'd take the blame (rarely voluntarily).
There's no real purpose to this, except personal amusement I guess. And to those that did manage to read this far, I hope you follow my updates.
Peace out!
Welcome hvalkof
