I used to write quite a bit about the music scene in NYC and beyond, but I wasn't making any money doing it. It was a labor of love, but eventually became a bit of a burden. I will be reposting old pieces of music journalism here, as well as a series of Now Playing detailing the music that is scratching my itch at the moment.

My musical tastes are eclectic to say the least. My #1 is the Grateful Dead with 1a and 1b being the Disco Biscuits and Phish. The rest of the so-called jambands pale in comparison. I'm also a huge fan of forward thinking electronic music (Four Tet, Nicolas Jaar, etc.) and jazz (Medeski Martin & Wood, The Bad Plus, etc.). The list goes on and on and on. As the Dead sing, "I have spent my life seeking all that's still unsung."

There is a theory which states that if ever anyone discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory mentioned, which states that this has already happened.
