Problems with the pressure switch of your hydropneumatic system?
I have a viable and very economical solution for you.
Has it happened to you that your Hydropneumatic system begins to fail and constantly loses pressure …? The system empties completely and your trusted technician tells you that you must change the Pressure Switch because it is damaged …? I have an easy and simple solution for you and above all very economical to solve that problem.
I’ll explain how: the pressure switch or pressure switch is a device created to control the start and stop of a hydraulic pump through the pressure differential. With a previous calibration made by the manufacturer, the device is able to start a pump at a standard pressure value that ranges between 20 psi or 30 psi and stop it at a maximum pressure value that can be located between 40 psi to 60 psi, it all depends on the equipment manufacturer.
Now, let’s talk about the failure, basically this device is composed of 90% mechanical parts and 20% of good quality plastic parts. When the device begins to fail, it usually does so because the water inlet conduit to the diaphragm chamber is obstructed, this product of the accumulation of sediment created by the water. The solution is to clean the entrance of the orifice with a pointed object carefully without piercing the diaphragm of the actuator.
After removing all the sediment, we proceed to wash the duct with clean water. This will ensure that the system operates back within the manufacturer’s pre-calibrated range.
Other anomalies that we can find when uncovering the device is the accumulation of rust in its mechanical parts. To solve this problem, we apply a solvent or antioxidant to each of the parts, until they are free of all corrosion. The same applied product will serve as a lubricant for the device.
And finally we get to the part where the damage can be considered catastrophic but it is not hahahahahaha, when when we completely disassemble the device we notice that the diaphragm is broken. To solve it, we only have to make a new one, without having to buy it, because it is difficult to find these types of parts on the market.
In a next post I will be talking about how to make this type of parts that personally have helped me to repair a large amount of equipment that was believed to no longer have repair, greetings to all and I hope this information will be useful to you.
