I'm a little confused as to why you would not have received any good offers from colleges, especially being a two-way player that looked good from both sides of the ball - as far as I could tell from the video. Did the recruiters give you any reasons regarding that? Was it just size and speed? (I can't really tell how big you are, but you seem to be able to handle yourself quite well against a variety of defenders.)
Well, I received the same petty excuse from multiple college coaches, from D1 to D3, which was that other coaches would discriminate against the color of my skin in consideration to my position. Then they would offer a bunk ass deal. it was weird, but thats why i suggested that the reasoning for the bunk offers was racial in nature within the article.
i wasnt offered more than 40% to play football anywhere, and was offered 90% to play college baseball. thats why i chose baseball.
Yeah, that's some BS. It's not like there haven't been some really good white running backs to come through the college ranks, especially in Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, and Nebraska. Your size and speed certainly wouldn't have been a problem. To think that a D-II or D-III school wouldn't offer more is a bit questionable, even if they have smaller budgets.
Anyway - it's unfortunate, but it's good that you have other goals to pursue. Good luck to you. I'll be following your journey.
