Hi Steemit! let me introduce myself! IT Systems admin for Hedge fund in NYC, crypto junkie, steemit enthusiast, traveler!

Hello fellow steemers! Glad to see that registration has been reopened , which means more great people and content.

Let me start off by introducing myself, my name is Peter. I'm 27, born in Virginia , but moved to New York City 3 years ago for a job opportunity. I'm now a systems administrator (IT admin) at a hedge fund in Manhattan. 

After working here awhile I'm now very interested in trading stocks and investing, but unfortunately working at a hedge fund I'm not allowed to invest in individual stocks that easily due to insider trading rules, everything must be approved by a compliance team, which took me toward Bitcoin - something that I was interested in that I can also trade. 

In the past few weeks I've made a few hundred dollars momentum trading bitcoin and started looking at other crypto currencies as well. I put an investment into Eth after the successful hard fork, and have been looking at STEEM now which is very exciting. (Although I wish I had gotten in earlier, bought in towards the top of the first pump). I'll be the first to tell you I don't understand the platform completely even
 after reading the white paper and the forums, with a 100% interest rate, the 90/10 split for SP holders and the content creators, I'm not yet sure on the details of SP as a long term investment, but I am excited to see how it plays out! Overall this is a very exciting platform, and as a big Reddit user it's easy to see a lot of potential here.

Aside from crypto currencies and tech, I enjoy traveling , sports (basketball), trees, recently Pokemon go (I live / work right next to the park where there are hundreds of people playing 24/7 - where the guy caused a vaporean stampede in the viral video) Here is a picture I took on one of the first days during the pokemon go takeover.

I live with my lovely girlfriend (who already signed up on steemit) in Manhattan, and we have started traveling more often recently and will be blogging about it on Steemit.

 

She is the best, and is even helping me pack my suitcase while I type this. (I'm lucky) 

Today we are leaving for Portugal for the the next 7 days, with a short stop first in Madrid and longer stay off the Portuguese coast on an island called Madeira.We bought a go pro hero , which I'm taking on the trip since we should be doing some cool stuff like canyoning, swimming with dolphins, and offroading. I'll be posting more updates throughout the week so stay posted!
