Hi Steemit, I'm Lily and I Love Tasty Noms

My friend @ItchyKitten contacted me all jazzed up on Steemit a little while ago. He’s a nice tiger, so I checked it out and decided this community was one I would really love to be a part of. I’ve been tanning a white-tailed deer hide with his beloved @Encanta all week, so I have not had much time for long compositions to introduce myself to y’all in between scraping, braining, breastfeeding, cooking and eating delicious noms, sleeping (some), and repeating. I have, however, had ample time for reflection. Quiet “me time” working all the muscles in my body transforming goopy fat and flesh into soft and buttery fabric. Mmmm…smokey buckskin, I love you. Early on in the process I wondered aloud “Have I ever used my triceps before?!”

tanning.jpg

Now that the hardest work is done and I prepare myself for the final step of smoking the hide, I find enough spaciousness to begin to introduce myself to you. My daughter is napping, so let's see if I can post this before the beast awakens from her slumber. One thing I really like about Steem so far is how genuinely authentic everyone seems to be. I dig that. So instead of deliberating too long about what exactly to write, I am going to just run with this. Ample warning, I can have a tendency toward long-windedness, verbosity, and I may or may not always tell the full truth and nothing but the truth. But as a young lady coming from a long line of storytellers, I feel it is my birthright - nay, my duty - to tell a tall tale from time to time. This intro is all true, though. Every word, I swear.

Here are some of the things that make me come alive in this one wild, precious life of mine:

  1. Tasty Noms

I am so fucking in love with tasty noms. I imagine all people feel this way, whether they are eating Tasty Cakes, Fatty Noms, Sweet Noms, Healthy Noms, or any other of the wide variety of Noms of the World, each with their own virtues. Here are some of my favorite tasty noms:

Mom Nom: What I feed my daughter from my breasts. It's what I ate from my mother from her breasts. Y'all hopefully had a similar experience. It is awesome. In the sage words of a friend's 3 year old: "Boob Medicine". Pure Magic.

IMG_5174.JPG

Garden Noms: I am an avid gardener in the thick of becoming a full fledged regenerative farmer here on the community land trust where I grew up: Lunasi Land Trust, est. 1972 by my dad, a back-to-the-lander who thought the economic collapse was imminent. The origins of this mythical and magical land are complex and ancient, much too fascinating and wonderful to tell you all right now. But I can make future posts about this weird little hippy bubble in the middle of dairy farm country in the Endless Mountains of PA. We are a few families and many visitors who cook some of the dankest garden nom noms you have never heard of. We feast pretty much every single night, as is the only proper way to pay respect to the bounty and abundance of delicious and nutritious noms coming from this generous land pretty much year round.

IMG_6097.JPG

Boozy Noms: We brew hard cider. Lots of it. And the combinations conceived of by my brilliant and creative brother, Danyota the Serpent Slayer, are out-of-this-world scrumptious! Everybody thinks so, and I agree. A modest goal of mine is for Lunasi Cidery to become to craft cider what DogfishHead is to craft beer. I’m giving myself 5-10 years to accomplish this goal, but aiming for 3 years out to go commercial (small scale) with our badass home brew. This year looks like it is going to be an excellent apple year, so we are planning to brew 4-5 barrels. (Promising beyond ability? challenge accepted!) I’d love to share that process with y’all, and share resources on cider, apples, grafting, actually starting an alcohol business in PA, etc., with other enthusiasts. I currently have a nursery with 50+ cider varieties I have grafted over the last several years. We are going to put them into an alley-cropping / multi-strata agroforestry system of 15 acres of hayfield here on the trust and convert an old barn we have into a venue space and tasting room for all the scrumptious noms we make here on the land. Favorite cider this year is the US-05 Lavender cider. Unexpectedly nommy.

~YoniPie Nom: I come from a long line of Pie Makers, and I have been known to sling a wild and wonderful many pies in my day. Recently, I shared with @Encanta a photo of vagina cupcakes which I had come across in something related to the Vagina Monologues. This got us excited (cupcakes+yonis=titillating) and so we made our first YoniCake: We took this to a neighborhood family potluck and just casually plopped it on the table with the rest of the desserts and walked away. Every so often we would hover nearby and watch people double-take and maybe snicker to themselves, or nudge their friends and giggle. But no one touched it. So, we dug right in, to much oohing and awing. Then everyone got their fair share of Yoni, as is only right in this world. After all, who isn’t going to want a Rose Petal &Black Pepper Shortbread HoneyMama YoniPie with Marzipan Labia, Lavender Whipped Cream, Toasted Coconut Pubes and a Gooey Strawberry Vaginal Blossom? Yes, Please!

IMG_6081.JPG

We have since made 4 other delicious YoniPie Noms. One we made for the Lunasi 43rd Annual Pie Festival’s Midnight Pie (pictured above). The Other two mini yoni pies we made from sour cherries that are currently in season and some mangos we had lying around. It would be my pleasure to share pictures and recipes with this Steem community. We would really like to start a movement of women and men making YoniPies and taking them to all sorts of events. Why? If you have to ask why we should do this, then you should probably stop reading right now and definitely not follow me. New tag suggestions for Steemit: FreeYonis | YoniPies | WildYoniPies | KeepYourTinyHandsOffMyYoniPie

~Chocolatey Noms: I am semi-nomadic. My beloved husband and my little daughter migrate South every winter with me to the Choco-Pacific coast of Ecuador, where we are members of a regenerative farming community and cacao farm called FinkaAekolado. We make so many dank Chocolatey Noms and Fruity Noms, it is in-fucking-credible. I can share some Tropical Noms with this community in future migrations, and can share pictures of some of the Noms of seasons past. Mmmmmm…Cardamom Cacao Noms…Panela Candied Turmeric Cacao Noms…Mmmmmmm….

cacaonom.jpg

There are a bunch of other Noms that I fucking love.

Ducky Noms....

IMG_5441.JPG

Shroomy Noms....

shroomynom.jpg

I am not going to go into all of them here, but you will get the gist as time goes on and I share more with you. I see food as foundational to the pursuit of happy, healthy, just and right living. Many of you probably already know just how fucked up our globalized food system is these days, so I am not going to get into that here. By cooking and eating delicious and regeneratively-sourced Noms, I really do believe we can go a long way toward healing the world.

Some other things that fire me up are:

~Regenerative LifeScape Coaching: I’ve got a website I constantly give myself shit about and which I am always feeling the need to update, but which I never update. I can’t login to it at the moment, so it is what it is. I traded a friend 4 winter squash and some cider to build it for me, and he did an awesome job. I think I am mostly just battling my inner-critic and the limiting belief that I suck at techie stuff. Pffffft. You can check it out if you like, and get in touch if you like. I am actually a really fucking badass life coach, ask anyone. And as my grandfather was fond of saying: "Humility is probably one of my finest qualities." http://vujadesign.org

~Making beauty: Sewing, beading, leather/buckskin work/cordage, basket making, etc. I love working with my hands and discovering all the incredible things human beings have learned to make with their ingenuity and the tremendous gifts of the Holies in the Wild. I am a humble student of many crafts and craftspeople, and I have miles and miles to go to live up to the grand aspirations I have…

umbilicalbag.jpg

~Wilderness: Got to have Nature, everyday. Nature Defecit Disorder is real and I am doing my best to make sure my family does not suffer from this crippling malady that is epidemic in so-called Western civilization.

~Singing makes my heart feel free.

~Dancing makes my spirit soar.

~Gathering People Together and ReMembering a Village supports me when I need it.

I am so grateful for the small amount of time I have already spent here with the Steemit Community. You guys all seem really cool, and I already have a few Steemit friend-crushes (who doesn't?!?). I see some of the quality content being created and curated here and I think to myself “right on! I want to meet some of these people for-realzies! They look awesome!” I am generally trying to spend less time, not more, in front of a computer. I, like so many of my fellow humans, am sick of the Facebook energy drain in my life. However, I want to feel connected to people, to meaningful things they do with their lives. Steemit might just give me an avenue for that. Can’t wait to see what emerges in the edge between me and all of you!

Thanks for reading. Now, for your amusement, the first meme I ever remember seeing and laughing at.

Because cute animal pictures always win.

You got some superpowers for sure! 🙀

https://steemit.com/boobolution/@mammasitta/i-make-milk-whats-your-superpower-nothing-wrong-with-breastfeeding-in-public

YES MAMMA!!!! haha I love it. it's only the most badass superpower ever!!! oh my god the

Use breasts to sell everything from burgers to cars, and no one bats an eye. Use breasts to feed a baby like nature intended, and everyone loses their mind!

IT's SOOO TRUE...what the hell. We got some weird shit going on in our unconscious minds :P

We are all badass superwomen with a huge responsibility to feed the magic elixir and destroy those monsanto monsters

Hellz yes! The #Boobolution will not be televised!

ahhhhH!! I love you right now mammasitta!

Hey there @itchykitten lead me here. You seem like a really awesome lady and I am following you now. Eating tasty noms as I type with. Well, some people call it weird noms cause "tasty" is subjective. It is seitan BBQ jerky. :)

That turtle is beautiful. I share art here as well.

I really think you will like it here and can't wait to see more. :)

Thanks @lauralemons for the follow, right back at you. I would argue that "weird" is also subjective, but I suppose most things are...

Your stories are so diverse, I love the array of beautiful insights you share. I look forward to diving deeper and mining the pearls, you are clearly a creative soul.

Hi @ladylunasi i introduced you in one of my posts as well check it out if you can thanks.

25 Best Minnows Steemians to follow last Week of June 2017

https://steemit.com/introduceyourself/@jzeek/25-best-minnows-steemians-to-follow-last-week-of-june-2017

Thanks a bunch @jzeek! I upvoted and resteemed it. Super honored to be featured alongside so many other neat-o-minnows

Wow, that's one hell of an introduction. I love the yoni pie, I can just see my relatives faces here in Oklahona when I serve that pie....We have a lot in common. I breast fed my 3 children back when breastfeeding was seen as odd. Can you imagine something humans have done for millions of years as odd?

I decided to breast feed because it's cheap and the healthiest way to feed a child. I grew up on a farm, all the bottle fed livestock did poorly and I didn't want that for my kids. I also didn't vaccinate them...I was a rebel back in the early 80s. It makes me feel so happy that young people are rediscovering the tried and true.

Way to pay attention and trust your own observations and feelings Reddust!!! I truly think it's a radical act in our age, where everyone is conditioned to think they don't know anything, and they should trust all their important decisions to somebody else.

And yeah, right? It is so odd, it's amazing how powerful our minds are...and our culture can be. I can't believe sometimes how much energy and money we give our health-repair system, and how little energy we give to the things that would make us strong and healthy from the start. Also, you have three kids??!? Dang girl!!! You don't look like it!

Fuck yeah, Mama! Thanks for the recognition. I say take the yonipie to the Oklahoma relatives and never look back! Love your posts, just so happens I am going to be writing about vaccines soon, my daughter and I are currently rounding out a treatment for rabies and it has been a whirlwind...Followed you back :)

THIS IS MY FAVORITE:

I traded a friend 4 winter squash and some cider to build it for me, and he did an awesome job. I think I am mostly just battling my inner-critic and the limiting belief that I suck at techie stuff. Pffffft. You can check it out if you like, and get in touch if you like. I am actually a really fucking badass life coach, ask anyone.

Also, it seems like you are a really good life coach. I think I am a really good life coach too, though I'm not a life coach. I am just ridiculously self-aware and expert at noticing and listening to my intuition at the right times. I'm also humble, like you <3 Some things, you just know.

@itchykitten sent me over here to say hi, and I'm glad he did. I'm Jessica, your new follower!

Haha, I'm glad you liked that part. I obviously had to battle my inner critic and limiting self beliefs when I wrote that, too, haha. Self awareness helps, and other-awareness is crucial. Your stellar intuition probably helps with that, though. Wonderful to meet you, @jessandthesea , I look forward to meandering through all the great stuff you have to offer!

hey Lils!!! my little sister just posted her first steem post, want to come meet her and say HI!??!?

YES I want to!!!

What about squash cider??? Can that happeN? I want to try some of that...it's carbohydrates isn't it? When's your birthday Jess? I'm a 2 minutes from midnight fire tiger, the luckiest of tigers. I love intuition, especially that feeling when you really make a hard left turn and do something you wouldn't normally, an come into something fabulous!

So, a few years ago, I was walking home from a bar, while visiting my friend Tyler in Seattle...and it was raining hard, and we were a fair deal past sober...and we had like 25 city blocks to walk back, it must be 3am in the morning.. and we go past this bus stop, and there's a guy sitting in there, it's dark out, I can barely see his face...and everything is just raining, I'm so wet.

It isn't until I literally get to the end of the block, that this little feeling finally explodes inside me, I KNEW him, but you know it's wet out, it's 3 in the morning, and yayaya.. but I turned around anyway, walked back to this guy at the bus stop, and said 'hey!'...

and we just stared at each other's faces for moments...and I said "Jordan??"
We cracked up...he was a friend from Highschool that I hadn't seen in ten years, we all thought he was dead...anyway, I felt so fricken happy !!!! Definitely a prized moment of listening to my intuition! We got to hang out that weekend :P

Squash cider is definitely a new idea! One Danyota may or may not raise his feathery eyebrows at. He has made a pizza ale, and a hawaiian pizza ale...contrary to people's intuition, what was produced was like a fucking sparkly, delicious pizza champagne. so if you can put tomatoes in then maybe you can put squash in. Worth a small batch test for sure!

Also, I recently ran into someone I knew ten years ago on a beach called Playa Escondida in Ecuador. We were not even very good friends and I immediately knew her name. We were the only two people staying at the hotel there. She later made out with a friend in desperate need of some sexual healing, so all in all it was a great reunion!

That's amazingggg! I love it when those things happen! My birthday is April 12. I am very much an Aries. What about you???

of course you are! I always fall in love with Aries girls! I've got like 12 consecutive years of being in love with ladies that have Aries/Taurus cusp sun signs. Mine is July 9th, Cancer Sun, Leo Moon, Pisces rising.

Welcome to steemit @ladylunasi. No doubt, you'll do fantastic here

=) when do i get to come over for dinner gringalicious???!!!

You certainly have many talents and a creative and humorous style! Followed for all of them!

Thanks @clayboyn! Appreciate it mucho!

Ok. You @ladylunasi are one serious oooeeeyyy gooooey LOVEBUG!! Ohhhh mah GOODNESS!!! Welcome to the Steemit Nation.....you are an absolute warm welcome. Thank you @itchykitten for procuring this wonderful soul aboard....a perfect indication, that through a community of positive vibes, love, and laughter we can ALL make this world a better place!! Well, Lady L...your tasty, fun, and groovy introduction has me hooked. Keep on smilin! Spread da Love Yo!! Following fo'sho!! -peaz ✌❤

Awwwww, you so sweet! The first question I have for you is "what does it mean to you to be a peaceful warrior?" I grew up a Quaker, and it has been an open inquiry throughout my adult life of how to embody and promote peace in an active way throughout my life's work. I've followed you, so I look forward to exploring this and many other things together :-) Thanks for the warm and gooey welcome!

Awwwe...You're more than welcome! I can say that I have a gift for sensing one's intentions, energy, and aura, it doesn't take me long to know if one's heart comes from a good place....no matter what faith, religion, or belief. Love is my religion and I spread peaz through simplicity in life....always aware, and always positive in thought and attitude. Treating others with respect and honor as I would in turn. So, in my mind to be a peazful warrior is to be one who confronts lifes challenges, negativity, desparity, and accepts, but also a continual practitioner....spreading kindness and gratitude unconditionally each and every day. To celebrate life everyday, to live life with zest and zeal. Never forgetting to Spread da Love!

I look forward to also staying connected Lady L, perhaps gaining a little insight to the Quaker beliefs...I find it so interesting! I firmly believe that we now have this wonderful and very powerful vehicle in the form of STEEMIT to stay connected and allow us in a way that our human civilization has never been capable of from this powerful voice......a Golden Age for the human race that will soon be confronted with the singularity, the merger of human consciousness and technology and I'd like to be a part of keeping that human consciousness in tact, pure, and peazful everyday.....

Stay beautiful @ladylunasi! One Love! -Peaz

Amen! Feelin' the Love over Hear Hear!

ooo00hh good question Lily! damn!!

and invite us all over for dinner sometime....that salad looks stupid incredible!

Building longer table as we speak :-) Drop ins welcome...

You sound like just the type of person I'd love to photograph- perhaps I'll make it out your way some day! @Itchykitten is doing a lovely job hooking up all the really interesting sorts around here. Following, and looking forward especially to the boozy noms 😇

I have modeled before. When I was little I always said I would never model unless it paid well and was easy - like fall into my lap easy. That aligned one day in Quito when I was kicking it waiting for some Malaria treatment to finish, and some ladies walked into my hostel and gave me a modeling gig for alpaca and leather creations. That led to future gigs. The most embarrassing one was a gig that I don't think ever saw the light, photo-wise, for a jewelry line based out of Iquitos, Peru called....oh man, here it goes...Chic Shaman cringe cringe cringe*...learned the name halfway through the shoot and if we had not been a boat ride away from "civilization" I would have walked off the set. Got paid well, though. Such is life...Got me my last ever visit to the Earthling portal to the intergalactic pub in Starwars: Dawn on the Amazon

well, cringeworthy jobs aside that's probably an asset to your life experiences, but I'm a travel and candid photographer — I like creeping about all over the world and watching things like people's hands or sunrises quietly. 😍 My very favourite thing to do is to freeze a smile that touches my soul, without that person ever knowing I was there... so your talents would probably be lost on me 😉

I just collect friends I don't know yet, so when I roll into a new place there's someone who can inspire my tumbleweedy nature to great heights while I'm there!

I just collect friends I don't know yet

/heartthump!!! i love it crimson

These pictures are adorable and the food looks super colourful !

Thanks @allasyummyfood! What a true compliment coming from you. The idea is to be colorful and pleasing to the eyes (we are such visual creatures, after all!), but mostly I aim to please the pallet. It's a marvelous thing when the senses feed each other, though :-)

Hi! Welcome to Steemit.

I found you because of @itchykitten! Very detailed post, I like it!

Here are some people who you might like to follow. They are living in @gardenofeden, being super sustainable, growing their own food etc. It's pretty cool! @saramiller @everlove @quinneaker

Thanks @sjennon! Checked out these profiles and I am so rapt, in awe of the food porn juxtaposed with knife love! I think we shall get along famously!

Hahah, i bet!
