Self-eSteem: The Quest to Become a Blockchain Blogger.

in #introduceyourself8 years ago

Hey there! I've been on Steemit for a few days now, so I thought I'd finally dive right in to the metaphorical pool that is blockchain blogging. My Dad first introduced me to Steemit and it immediately captured my interest when he mentioned the writing aspect of it. So I thought I’d give it a shot.

Let me introduce myself. My name is Lalina; I'm 19 and an English student from the UK. As you're reading this I'm most likely singing obnoxiously loud (and off key) to the same never-ending playlist I’ve had for years… which mainly consists of David Bowie, The Strokes, The Smiths, The Red Hot Chili Peppers and The Doors. It’s a slightly unusual musical cocktail for sure. When I’m not damaging the eardrums of any living creature in my close proximity, I’m usually binge watching Netflix. Currently, a few of my favourite things to watch till 3am, are mainly crime shows. I really enjoy Criminal Minds, Orange is the New Black and Law and Order: SVU. The combination of staying up late and watching these kind of shows doesn't always bode well on the psyche. But Criminal Minds is one of my favourites and Matthew Gray Gubler is dreamy.

*swoons*

I’ve also recently started watching Game of Thrones but I'm so far behind it should be illegal. As an English Student, I also love reading. I have a handful of favourite books because it's impossible to choose just one. My current favourite is "The Bluest Eye" by Toni Morrison which I highly recommend. It highlights the themes of race, the power of narrative and the expectations of beauty. It's a brilliant novel that's deeply thought provoking and beautifully poignant. I'm also really enjoying playing Pokémon GO at the moment. I know it may seem very overhyped and overrated, but as someone who spent the majority of their childhood watching Pokémon: Indigo League, I find no greater joy then bringing it to life by catching "real life" Pokémon. It has a definitive sense of nostalgia, that I find pretty extraordinary that it has become so popular, since we live in a culture that has an immense sense of value in new technology and tend to reject inventions of the past. For me Pokémon GO perfectly embraces both new and old which is something I truly enjoy.

That was a little bit about me, so thank you for reading (if you got this far)! My main aim with Steemit is to help build my blogging ability (because I'm still very new to this) and hopefully in the future potentially build a career from this kinda work. I'll probably be blogging about a lot of different things because I have trouble committing to just one. So if you enjoyed this little intro please let me know and I'll keep the quest to become a blockchain blogger going. Thanks for reading!

Peace and Love,

 Lalina.
