Steem just got real
Greetings to all the lucky people that for any reason ended up reading this post.
I am more modest than I just seemed, I promise.
My name is Laura Esther, I was born in Mexico and raised in Bolivia (which is neither more nor less than the heart of Latin America). So yeah, that should explain why this post may seem written in a peculiar way.
In case you were wondering how does a Bolivian/Mexican girl looks like, I shall post a picture of myself. I chose this one because it really captured my 8-year-old essence, even though I am actually 19.
Okay, enough of a preamble. I did not spend several days trying to figure out how this Steemit place works just to gabble about myself, but to do so about my work as a graphic designer student (I know, how smooth that change of subject was). I am planning to post some of my best work and the making process behind it.
I would like to say I am doing this so I can share somehow my country’s view and progress in the magnificent area I just mentioned to be part of, so that graphic designers around the world may have an idea of how we roll in this section of the planet… But honestly, I just really enjoy gabbling about my work.
So, for this post, considering it is my first, I chose to show you the following piece. It might not be my best, nor my favorite or better looking one whatsoever, but it does have a very special value to me, as it is one of my most personal ones.
Last year, I received the assignment of making a self-portrait. No parameters, just reflect what you want to reflect. So, this was the result.
I know, it is a little bit creepy.
There are three important elements in this image: The aluminum, the dark half face and the noise in the background. You probably have already built up an idea about what I meant with each of these elements, but just let me gabble.
I feel like I have developed an automatic way of coexisting, which is through my aluminum face: reflective. I transmit what I perceive.
But then, there is my other darker half face, it is a little bit harder to distinguish, but you can find a little girl face who is actually me when I was around eight years old. This is because I feel like my way of thinking and creating (and sometimes even my manners) somehow have remained as simple and clear as they were then.
Finally, the noise in the background was meant to reflect all the ideas and thoughts that fill my head most of the time.
I do not want to make this post larger than it already is so, I will say goodbye with a picture of me reading Winnie Pooh to my stuffed animals so you can have a grasp of how cultured and well educated I am.

Hi Laura, welcome to Steemit. Perhaps you have a lot of questions about Steemit and no doubt the proper answer is from reading the Official website FAQ: (https://steemit.com/faq.html).
It is a bit creepy when I saw your second pictures. Luckily it is not midnight yet , if not I will probably will have nightmares. Those thoughts are magical things which we had since we were born. When thought become things, you will see miracles.
Have fun learning and share your experiences in Steemit. Enjoy!
It's not going to get creepier than this I promise!
