Hi,
My name is Lucius and is very happy to be a part of this community. I would say that I got stumbled upon this platform and is quite impressed by the idea of how social platform should function. I am quite proud to be a part of this new blockchain revolution and is currently anticipating it to change our lives.
I am currently a master student studying master in actuarial science. For those that do not know what is it, it is basically a profession that involves in identifying, quantifying and managing future financial risk. Traditionally we worked in pension and life insurance industry, we have been involving more in General Insurance and financial industry recently.
Due to my study, I have taken interest in FinTech and Blockchain. Just recently I have finally managed to buy my first crptocurrency, which is Ripple. That decision was not based on thorough research, it was merely based on speculation and the curiosity to be a part of all the hype.
Then it has prompted me to start scouring knowledge about blockchain and crytocurrencies. The more I know, the more I am impressed on what blockchain is capable of doing. I started to look at every currency on the top 20 and try to get involved as much as I could. There are a lot of interesting projects, it is an interesting time to be at.
I am just getting started to know how blockchain works and is getting used to terms like PoW, PoS and other variations. I hope that in the near term I will have the discipline and resource to learn how to code and build applications around blockchain. Maybe there is a chance that I can help accelerate the adoption of this technology in my homeland, Malaysia.
Currently, the project that I am very interested in is ANS, dubbed as China version of Ethereum and using delegated Byzantine Fault Tolerance (dBFT) framework. It is also quite interesting to see projects such as IOTA which is using new concept, Tangle. But at this stage, it is actually quite hard to say who will survive for the next 10 years.
I believe this is just the start of the adoption of this impactful technology and I am looking forward to seeing the future that it will bring :)
