What's up you beautiful people?

My name is Marko, and I am a student at Faculty of Maritime Studies! It's going pretty well I guess, but I always look to improve wherever I can.

In my free time, basically all I do is related to soccer.  If I'm not playing it, I either watch games at home or at a bar, or play soccer games(Football Manager for life).

Oh, and I absolutely love Liverpool.

Why I'm here

I joined Steemit to beacuse of my passion and love for soccer and to share my opinions and interesting facts about soccer with you, as I really enjoy stats and tactical analysis of The beautiful game.

I hope you'll find my style of writing interesting enough to follow my posts and I'll try my best to make you love soccer even more!

Back to soccer

This summer, me and my lifelong friends decided to create a team and start playing 4-a-side competitively.

Basically, all we wanted to do is have a bit of fun and win a few games.

We participated in a fairly strong tournament and in our debut game, we won 3-0.
Second game, however, did not go as well. We got knocked out and it's fair to say we didn't expect anything from our team in the future.

But then, we found out that there's a tournament being played on a pitch where we spent God knows how many hours, so we decided to join that tournament and see how far we can go when on a familiar pitch.

Tournament hosted all the strongest teams from the town and its region, and literally no one expected us to win more than one game.

That's when the magic started to happen. Other teams didn't know anything about us, they mocked and underestimated us, and we were happy to let them trash talk us while we concentrated on the game.

One game at a time, we got through to the finals, knocking out many teams that usually won these kinds of tournaments.  I can't remember if I ever got kicked as much as in those 5-6 games, but the pain became more and more irrelevant after every goal I scored and every game we won.

Then came the final. We were up against the team that played in so many tournaments and won a fair amount of medals in many years they played together.

It was a brilliant match, really hard fought with many fouls, cuts and bruises, and a few amazing goals.

Match finished 3-3 in regular time, and then came the penalties. Our best player is widely known to have never missed a single penalty in his life, and he did the same thing in the shootout.

We actually won the tournament.  I can't even begin to tell you how delighted I was when that final penalty crossed the line!

We felt like Leicester City after winning the Premier League, except Leicester actually had a few class players unlike us.

Here's a couple more pictures of us after winning the trophy..

See you later steemit lads!

Welcome! I recently saw the Liverpool game on Wednesday. Quite the match!

Amazing team going forward, if they sort out their defence, only sky is the limit.

My profile is @flashfiction and i would like to present you some links i found really useful when i first signed up here. They will make you start with the right foot on Steemit!

These links will all open on the SAME TAB (Yeah, i know...), so i recommend opening them with "right click->open in a new tab".

LinkCheckDescription
Growing FastTopYou HAVE to register here, if you want to build an audience FAST. It's a free service for boosting exposure, upvotes and followers. You just have to click on "login". Have your key at hand (That awfully long number you got when you signed up on Steemit). The tutorials are easy to follow.
All about steem coinsTopThere are three coins of use on Steemit, and understanding them is critical for your success. This is a short explaining video, the very best i've found.
MarkdownTopEven if you can use some basic HTML on your posts, the correct way to format them is NOT HTML. You use a marking ruleset called, yeah, "Markdown". Have this as a complete reference.
PostingMediumThe top activities on this site are posting, upvoting and commenting. This is an excellent tutorial about making your posts look great. Don't miss it!
UpvotingMediumYeah, you tought upvoting was just a matter of machine-gunning your clicks and make easy bucks. Nah. It is actually a little more complicated than that. All you need to know is here.
Better interfaceMediumLet's face it: The interface on Steemit is pretty basic. "Busy" is an alternate interface you can use, more polished and easy to navigate. Both of them can be used simultaneously. Again, you just have to login.
Using BotsMediumThere are a lot of things to learn about this platform, and understanding bots is one of the most important. They are little different services you can access for a fee. I found this tutorial extremely useful.
Trevon JamesMediumI know, i know... there are lots and lots of GREAT steemians here for picking one to recommend, but i just love Trevon's style. He explains EVERYTHING you need to know about Steemit (and crypto) in a funny, accesible way. Check him out.
@flashfictionAwesomeWell, duh. My profile! ;) I write short fiction and tutorials on creative writing. I would be honored if you'd follow me.
