My Steemit introduction! Hello, I’m Matt Nash

Hollo Steemit community! This is my introducemyself post. My name is Matt Nash and I live in Alabama where I have lived for most of life. I am normal shy and quite man that only speaks few words to convey my message instead of a few paragraphs. I am proud father and grandfather!! I have 5 kids between 17-26 years old and 2 of the best granddaughters ever (just like every grandparent feels about their GRANDkids)!!

I enjoy spending time with my family the most. My hobbies are outdoor activities that the family can do together. I have had health issues since 2015 that has kept me from enjoying my hobbies. But after a couple of neck surgeries and many RFA procedures. I am finally improving so I can back to enjoying and living life. I am choosing to live life like there is no tomorrow without fear and chase my entrepreneurial dreams.

I currently have a day job in process controls in which I am planning to retire from in the next couple of years. I am an active real estate investor seeking to acquire more rental properties to aid in my early retirement plan. I have learned that you cannot rely on a 401k for retirement, more about that later. I am also planning to do some fix and flips after retiring from my current job. My son and I have recently started a residential window sales and installation business. I am handling the office work and he is handing the day to day and field work.

I also have an e-commerce business that provides social media services for entrepreneurs and businesses. So how does a quiet shy guy provide social media services? I have a team of great, outspoken marketing experts to fulfil the services. I am my best customer. And the best way to learn and conquer your fears is to do it!

One of my favorite quotes is from Steve Harvey, “You’ve Got To Jump”. Watch the full video here: https://www.facebook.com/SteveHarvey/videos/1653661894894669/

I first heard about Steemit several months ago but I didn’t understand it. One of my Facebook friends was talking about Steemit a few weeks ago so I decided to learn more about it with an open mind. I still have much to learn but I now have a good starting point.

So I am on Steemit now for several reasons. First, I want to learn more about Steem and cryptocurrencies to use for investing and diversifying. I also want to network with new open minded, positive, forward thinking people. Over the last couple of years I have listened, watched or read many podcast, webinars and books for real estate investing, stock market, 401k, forex trading and self-improvement, so I want to share what I have learned on these subjects.

I look forward to connecting with all of you and helping to grow the steemit community.

Hi @mattnash! Welcome to (what I believe will become) the best social network on the internet! I know it seems like a like a lot to learn at the start, there are a couple of things you can do without much effort to start getting your followership up quickly.

First, make sure to follow @bot-helper so you have a better chance at getting some exposure on your content. You can check out what I mean by taking a look at this link. Also consider following @minnowsunite and @minnowsupport

Next, check out the chat rooms. The Minnow Support Group has its own Discord channel filled with folks who want to get to know you and hand out advice. So pop in and say hi from time to time. You’ll likely see me there as well. Just click on this link to get started> https://discordapp.com/invite/HYj4yvw

Finally, check out some of the tags and topics on the right side of the dashboard. Find a topic you are interested/knowledgeable in and start commenting. The more great comments you make, the better chance you have for people to start following you! Feel free to follow me as well (@randomness) so we can go on this journey together!

Good luck getting started and just remember to take it a day at a time. Rome wasn’t built in a day!

P.S. - Good on you for not trusting the value of your 401(k). Most investment accounts are really going to be hurting in the future (I believe) and it sounds like you've done an expert job in diversifying your streams of income. Nice work!

Thanks for the info @randomness. I'm following you

Thanks, Matt....I'm following back

Hello @mattnash Great introducemyself post!!

I'm @andyluy and I've been here for a couple of weeks, a can tell youThat steemit is the most amazing thing I've ever seen at the internet so far. I'm happy seeing it grows every day!

I had some hard time on the firsts week, so I spent some time searching information to improve my experience with steemit, latter I've decided to make posts about those things in order to help the new ones to have a shortcut to get deeper on steemit. ^^

here is some of my posts, I hope It mitght be helpful to you:

The Randowhale
Getting videos from facebook
Minnowssupport!
Randowhale update 1

I intend to keep posting useful info that I may be able to gather, and in a near future some give away. Feel invited to follow me and if you have any question about steemit you can ask me in any of my last posts, I'll try my best to help.

Thanks @vanessa11val, I'm definitely going to check out your posts.

Actually I'm @andyluy but I think i get the felling! hahaha

I do apologize. The ctrl+c & ctrl+v have been kicking my tail the past few weeks. This makes at least a dozen times I've made a copy/paste error like this.

welcome @Mattnash:) Glad to see you,I hope you enjoy here as much as i do !! Nice post, i will follow your account, please follow me !

Welcome to steemit @mattnash! Wow you seem to be involved in many things! Congrats on being a grandparent. I know my parents love it! Hope you enjoy steemit :)

Thanks @sgnsteems. I like to stay busy, but all of my business are to get me out of the day job so I can have more time with the grandkids and kids. And show my kids that I was wrong by working 60+ hours a week for someone else. I missed so much valuable time with them. Now my kids are doing the same thing.

Yes the daily workload forces us too work too many hours. Being your own boss allows you more freedom with schedule. Its better to find out later rather than never. Hope your children see family is more important. Take care!

hello @mattnash

you are very much welcome to steemit,a one of its kind in the history of social networks. i will like to share with you some lessons i learnt the hard way.

First, write on your area of strength, don't strugle more to get topics to write on, but when you write based on what you know/do well at, that becomes your brand and fellow steemians will know what to expect from you on every post.

don't beg for followers.

When people follow you on a quip pro quo basis, that's the foundation of not getting upvotes and comments because many of your followers didn't do so because they wanted what you have to offer but rather they are just there as numbers. #don't go for numbers, but value.

When i joined, after my intro post. i went low kay and started engaging with people on their posts and comments and like that,i was getting people that truly liked me for me. i must note that at some post as a newbie, i outrightly asked people to follow me but that was before i learned that it was one of the unwritten rule of steemit;don't beg for followers.

Again, paticipate in contests, it will conect you to people and probably, earn you some steem/steem dollar. and always try to leave a good comment on people's posts. this dose wonders. check out this contest[clickhere]https://steemit.com/fiftywords/@literature-trail/50-word-story-contest-week-19-join-for-a-chance-to-win-1000-trail-and-40-sbd

Finally, learn to engage. Get the esteem app on your phone so that after writing and posting with your pc,you can now use your phone and respond to replys on the go. This will help you build your followers.>/h4>

I hope that this piece will be of grate help to you as it has been for me[though i learnt the hard way]. Follow them and thank me later. : )

once more, you are welcome.

@arizonawise.

Thanks @arizonawise, I will take part in the contest and get the app!

You are welcome pal..am glad i could be of help.

Loved the Steve Harvey video!

Thanks Neal! It has really helped me get out of my comfort zone and some things happen.
