An introduction to myself, skipping the boring parts.

Recently sold my aluminium manufacturing business to start with the next chapter in my life. But before I tell you more about that, lets rewind to the start:

The Start:

Born an bred in sunny South Africa, spend all the school holidays of the first 18 years of my life on my grand fathers farm learning to appreciate nature and the world we live in. Then university happened, and a whole new world opened up, fell in love with the mountains and from then on everything I did had something to do with mountains.

Who am I?

I am a Paraglider Pilot, Mountaineer, Rock Climber, Hiker, Trail Runner, Mountain biker, Kayak'er, Scuba Diver, Adventure Racer.. An Intrepid Adventurer with some Entrepreneur mixed in for good measure.

Started hiking in the Drakensberg mountains during varsity. The more I went the deeper the love for the place got. Recently we attempted the "Drakensberg Grand Traverse", a 220km hike on top of the escarpment of the Drakensberg. According to Outsideonline, it is one of the top 20 dangerous hikes in the world.. Lets just say everything is relative :)

Being a dysfunctional student spending all his money on rock climbing gear and trips to the mountains, I had to find some form of income, would not exactly call it work as it was more/equal to the amount of fun we had on weekends in the mountains,  so I started working for adventure companies. Part of the perks was traveling and exploring remote parts of Africa, including a month long excursion in Zambia.

Travel for days on sandy tracks with no inhabitants to be seen. Its crazy to think that places like this can exist, but they do! Loading fully equipped safari vehicles on extremely dodgy ferries while crossing the mighty Zambezi river.

And all this just to get to an elusive Wildebeest migration in the far northern parts of Zambia. The live we had that month..

The Middle Part

After finishing varsity, the adventures and travels did not stop. The first December we grabbed the mountain bikes, loaded 50kg of stuff we thought we need and off we went on a 2000km journey to the ocean where our lift back will be leaving in exactly 3 weeks, with or without us literally. In there defense, they had obligations they needed to get back to.

Then work started. We all know the gears of the economy wont turn by itself. Worked for 5 years for various companies before starting my own aluminium manufacturing company which manufactured aftermarket parts for the off-road community. The manufacturing company is now sold after 4 years and it is time to move on to the next chapter. But before we get there.. The adventures and fun did not stop while the cogs of economy were turning. With the love of the mountains came a new love, the one of flying! But for that love story you will have to follow me as it is very complicated one which deserves at least it own post... or 6.  :)

Me busy running off a mountain!

This place isn't called paradise ridge for nothing.

The Now

If you remember in the beginning there is a bit Entrepreneur mixed in the adventure spirit. Have a small 3D printing company in which we focus on state off the art dental and reconstructive stuff. Besides that a very new company for 360 video productions and google inside views.  Of you are interested in that kind of stuff, the YouTube channel can be found HERE. (If you like it please subscribe as there is plenty more to come)

I am intrigued by new and advancements in technology so it was only a matter a time that the whole cryptocurrency world would cross my path. Well that happened in late 2015, did nothing about it until early 2016 and now follow the development of cryptocurrencies that is different from the rest with great interest and get involved in those that I think will make the future better, currencies like Ethereum and now Steem.

Where to from Here?

If you like adventures in the mountains or on water and travel stuff there is lots of stories to tell so please follow me. From time to time I will also add content related to entrepreneurship and 360° stuff, be it google inside view or video or just photos. Will always try to skip the boring parts! :)

New adventures awaits, traveling to Namibia in 2 weeks and then Malawi October-November 2016, taking the 360 camera with so be sure to follow me if you don't want to miss out on that!

Cheers for now!
