Introducing myself! Come and say hi to this minnow :)

So excited to be here!

This little minnow has been active on Steemit only for a few days now, and is celebrating it's massive following of 25 people already :P I joined Steemit last year but then totally forgot about it.

I am very grateful to @jerrybanfield for running Steemit campaign on his Youtube channel that brought me back here.

What a genius idea Steemit is! Unlike other social media websites that benefit from the content of their users without giving anything in return, Steemit seems light years ahead. A platform where good content is rewarded is for sure destined to be the next big thing. You can mark my words!!

My introduction and interests:

So here goes my intro ........ummmm............deep breath ........

Hi everyone, nice to see you all on this vibrant community. My name is Kashif, and I am from Pakistan. Here's a picture so you could see my face.

I am into books, movies, cooking, travelling, and imparting knowledge as part of my job being a teacher.

Teaching is fun as I get to meet new groups of students every so often. And it's a fulfilling and rewarding experience to help them transition from beginners to experts in their subjects.

In my free time - when I am actually free or when I am procrastinating - I like to play 8 Ball Pool, an online game. I am on the 86th level :) But with a 55.2% winning rate, unfortunately I don't stand a chance to be a champion anytime soon. If you also play this game, feel free to challenge me :)

Travelling:

I consider myself to be lucky for all the opportunities that life has presented me. I studied Engineering at University of Illinois, and have had the chance to travel to or drive through as many as 30-some states in the US, and to many other countries including UK, Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Germany, Dubai, etc. Here are some more pictures from my travels:

Ha, that was my 'performance' at Trafalgar Square, UK. The guy in red and blue was charging a few pounds for getting people into the pose I am in, and himself getting under that stick :) I was quite puzzled as I had never done anything close to that, but seems from the picture that I did quite well. Or at least, it was fun!

And of course, Niagra Falls. This is American side of the falls, precisely under 'Cave of the Winds', where you may get to shower under the mighty falls. Over there, I managed to photograph the rainbow forming a complete circle - you can see a portion of that in the background.

What I will be posting:

I have never blogged or written much about myself before. But I always wanted to start a blog to share my experiences, adventures and passions. Steemit seems to be an ideal place for that so I will try to open up and post actively.

I am passionate about technology, food and healthy diet, travelling, DIY (do-it-yourself) projects and reading. I will be creating content mainly in these areas, so stay tuned.

What are my goals to be on Steemit:

I love diversity and exploring new cultures. Steemit is definitely the ideal place for that. I am here to meet lots of cool people from all parts of the world and make new friends, and if I can make a few extra bucks along the way, what better than that!

Thanks for taking the time to go through my introductory post and the 'information overload' about me. I am quite a friendly person, always looking to expand my social circle - so feel free to follow, comment etc. I would also be grateful for your advice and suggestions on how to succeed on this platform as I am just starting out and learning the ropes of Steemit.
