First Post (Introduce Yourself!) -from a girl in a mermaid tail.
My name is Izzy May and I'm here to tell you that it's okay to not be "normal."
I've probably been sitting here for 22 minutes trying to decide what to write.
I'm super new here on Steemit. Just a piece of fresh meat trying to figure out:
- How this giant machine called Steemit works
- How to share what I know with others in desperate hopes someone will benefit from my experiences.
I've struggled this whole summer with, "How do I share the knowledge that I've collected with the world in the most effective way possible."
This is it. I found it.
So I apologize greatly in advance if I mess something up or something isn't formatted the right way.
Let's start with the basics-
(I take an unacceptable amount of photos of myself in the bath)
I'm a college student majoring in Psychology. (But let's be real for a second- psych majors have a rep for being "stuck the fuck up," if you will. I'm docile for the most part)
I have a love for the stranger things in life. I love to create.
(My book of shadows)
I'm a bit of a magpie when it comes to small shiny objects. If I got for a walk around the city? You'd better believe when I return, my pockets will have at least 2 objects that I plucked from the pavement along the way.
(Crystals/shells I've collected over the years)
The ocean, the beach, salt water, anything to do with water- that's where I thrive. Since I live in the smokey mountains? I don't get to see the ocean very often. So I am constantly picking shells, sharks teeth, and sometimes even pearls(!) out of the sand when I get to go!
I have 22 tattoos, but I've chosen to show the cutest one I have here. Maybe I'll make a separate post completely about tattoo information and photos of all the work I've had done (if people would be interested.)
(I know my skin is dry in this photo, but LOOK AT THE CUTE DETAILING ON THE OCTOPUS)
This next photo might scare you a little. Below- I'm dressed as a "pretty zombie". You've been warned.
I also love working in various haunts when the Halloween season comes around. I'll make a separate post for some of the looks that I've done. Here isn't really the place heh.
.
.
.
(Just a showcase, this was my favorite trial of the makeup :)
(The Marionette from FNAF)
I also have a sick twisted relationship with the FNAF, or Five Nights At Freddy's games.
Scott Cawthon is a genius and one day I'd love to have tea with him and ask him questions.
I'm too much of a coward to play the game, but I have no problem chasing people through haunted underground caves,(Haunted Appalachian Caverns in the fall) where is the logic??
(Back bends in a chainsaw room, last year's haunt)
I also have a love for interesting pets. I've had several cats (I think 6 at once), a black widow, a praying mantis, 2 rats, 2 dogs- (ALL RESCUES)
(This is Frank BeanPole- She was named before she layed eggs on the top of her enclosure. Oops. Above, you can see her feasting on a cricket. . .Yes I went to Petsmart and bought crickets for a bug I saved.)
(From left to right, Charlie and Mac. My boyfriend and I named them after the characters from, "It's always Sunny in Philadelphia.")
So thank you for graciously giving me your time and for clicking in :)
Once I get a better grasp on what I'd like to do, I'll be working hard to bring interesting and helpful content to the Steemit table!
My goal is to empower people who like things a little odd.
I want to break the stigma that comes with the word "weird." I'm a person who likes the strange in life.
Offering support and information when it comes to embracing your inner 'freak' is something I think I do pretty well with in the real world- So why not offer my support to people I can't physically reach?
So I'll leave you with a little quote I stitched together my freshman year of high school.
"Break the Silence with something Meaningful-
Once it's broken, you can't exactly put it back together."
Love and Positive Thoughts,
-MerMayed
Interesting to read! How long have you had Frank Bean Pole how long can he live?
Frank is no longer with me. I took Frank and her egg sack back to my fathers house and found them shelter in a shrub of sorts.
I'm not sure the life expectancy of a praying mantis, but she lived longer than a school semester haha.
That photo scared me. Even though you scared me i still welcome you :)
awwe c: well thank you for making me feel right at home here!
