I made a monster steemit and got paid for it
Hi everyone,
This is an introduction to me Simon Millington from Chester in the UK, no one special, I have not invented bitcoins nor have I made Millions of Dollars in Internet Marketing, but I am trying.. and like any wannabe Internet Marketer I have seemingly bought every PLR, Plugin, Profit Funnel Machine and Email Autoresponder software out there, but still nothing, nadda, zilch.
I have whats called Shiny Object Syndrome which should be an automatic SOS, the only good thing is I can now tell you what things work and what things dont which I may write about in another blog.
I have been looking around steemit for a while now and joined Steem Cash for some help learning how it all works, reading all the different stories, advice, memories but never really thought I have had an interesting life, but you know when you ask someone else what you have done in your life and then they reel off all those things that they remember about you it makes you think that there may be something there that may be interesting for other people to read.
Before I start I have always loved graphics and art so i thought I would make a T-Shirt to show appreciation for this facebook rivalling bloggers platform, tell me what you think?
Grab one here if you love it https://teespring.com/steemandironit plus I made a mug which looks great next to any bloggers keyboard filled with steemin hot coffee to keep you wide awake when you have bloggers block... sorry I couldn't resist!!
enough of the blatent sales pitch..
When I was thinking back over my life there were certain points that were poignant and maybe save the nitty gritty bits for another post, so i thought I would summarize them and if anyone finds them interesting they can read them later with a bit more detail
me and the kids, talk about a handful !!!
About Me:
I was born 1974 so that currently makes me 41 and due for a mid life crisis, but saying that I havn't had one yet and not only that I dont know anyone who has had one. Question: Was the process of having a mid life crisis left back in the 1980's and early 90's ? I think it was the in thing to have along with spending all your savings on a Porsche 911 then selling it a year later only to be replaced with a brown Volvo.
When I was born my mother never married my father and they never really got together but my mother met someone a few years after I was born and Married him, his Name was Martin, who in my eyes was my dad and always will, he loved me so much he adopted me, he was a 6ft 3 Police Man and one of the kindest, strongest and honest people I am ever going to meet in my lifetime, but the cruel Disease Cancer took him when I was just aged 6, the majority of the time I lived with my Grandmother who looked after me while my mother worked shifts at the Police Head Quarters which was hard for her as well as me because she mostly worked night shifts and slept in the day, not only that she suffered from Neuralgia and Migraines at the same time which attacked her sometimes 10 times a day for 30 minutes at a time
I met my real Father for the first time when I was 17 and he turned out to be a fashion Photographer who did photography for Vogue, Daily Mail and other publications which was really cool for a 17 year old but that is a whole other story for another time.My First Job,
I chose my first main job carefully, I was always interested in cars and the company that I chose was the ultimate in my eyes working for a company called DIMMA producing bodykits for the Peugeot 205 and Renault Clio back in the early 1990's and then we designed one which incorporated a 4x4 cosworth engine and drive train with around 400 BHP which in those days was pretty unheard of
Things went a bit sideways for a while, a good friend of mine or so I thought, was a bit of a rogue but always made people laugh which kind of made things worse as this was his way out of getting into too much trouble, he used to fill people full of his promises and madcap ideas which I wont go into much detail on here but has ended him up with him being sentenced to 3 years in prison, not just once but twice, which included defrauding a Lottery winner out of nearly a Million UK Pounds, having gangsters take him into a forest and getting him to dig his own grave with a gun to his head for owing them £400,000.
Deceptively taking £25,000 from my mother saying his life was in danger if he didnt pay these gangsters, I may write more about this in another post if anyone finds it interesting.
my advice for anyone who has a controlling, manipulative or deceptive friend ( and I am sure there are many out there ) at first try and guide them out of their stupid ways but if it doesn't work, leave them too it and dont get involved in their mistakes as I did, even though we choose our friends we do not have to take on their problems and failures, prioritise yourself even though you care what happens to your friends, sometimes you have to let them make their own mistakes, because you can be too easily pulled into something and it's not a good place to be.
All that was about 12 years ago and things have changed so much for the better but its taken a lot of hard work, stress
I now work for a company called UK Memory and we sell items like Watch Winders and Axis watch boxes on Amazon view AXW097s Watch Winder
I started my company Two Mills Marketing about a year ago which I am wanting to do some great things in the Internet Marketing Industry.
I am looking to promote Steemit in any way possible as this will be great and as we are all at the forefront of this behemoth I believe this can rival facebook in so many ways so lets get started
and this is where I am now
And I hope everyone has enjoyed my little story please like and share it would help me a lot
HAHA that was one of the best headlines I have read here.
Simply Great Information and Presentation
@alaynaspop appears to be a bot that posts this same comment on multiple posts without also upvoting to support the compliment and adding nothing to the conversation. See my post here: https://steemit.com/steemit/@brendio/fighting-a-spambot
i hope not as this is my first post and I really dont want any spam, and this is not what this platform is all about I hope, there is enough spam in my inbox
The advantage with Steem over email is that there are mechanisms in place for the community to deal with spam. If you see spam, flag it (click the little flag icon in the top right of the comment. You can see that the reputation score of @alaynaspop is already reduced (it was around 26 when I first noticed it) and as more people flag it, it will turn negative and the eventually be hidden from view.
