I’m a black woman... that’s me
Hi Steemians,
I’m Ogechi. I feel my name completely exudes who I am. I think I should legally change my last name to Ogechi. I really really like the name – Ogechi. I’d be called Ogechi Ogechi.
I am Igbo (quite obvious from my name).
I found out about this Awesome platform from @sussan
About me- I’m in my sixth year of Pharmacy school. I also started a company 2 years ago that manufactures and sells organic hair products – HAIRS TO YOU(@ahairytale on Instagram)
Website: www.hairstoyou.com.ng
I love being self-employed. It gives me a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction. I also like the idea of providing a service to society. Hair is something that is important to me.
I think it’s something that has been devalued in the past and has been replaced with synthetic and human hair weaves. I strongly believe our hair (black people) is strong and a part of our roots and heritage. Our hair is beautiful, it is flexible, it shouts AFRICAN, and it screams strength.
I love music-ohhh… if I could sing, I’d never speak. My genre of preference is alternative rock and jazz. Have you experienced that feeling when you hear someone sing a song and you know right there and then that God exists? Not just for religious songs but when a song is sung with so much emotion, soul and passion – you just believe in the existence of MORE. In the existence of a greater force. You even feel it in your body in the form of goose bumps and tears sometimes. Priceless moments in life.
I like to write. I’ve had several blogs in the past. I like to write about issues that bother me. Issues concerning women mostly. Issues about domestic violence against women and children, mental disorders and health issues. I was very fortunate enough to be published on ‘THE NATION’ newspaper in October 2014.
I don’t have any notable talents but I do have a beautiful mind. Not to oversell myself or anything but my mind works a little bit above average. I hope to share some of my ideas with you guys and I hope you enjoy every bit of it.
I'm excited to be a part of this platform, that means I am officially a steemian. Thanks to @sussan for helping me discover this platform.
