Introducing… a programming lover!
Hello Steemit!
I’m Pedro Amaro, also known as ‘n42k’, 22 years old, living in Portugal, and studying to become a Software Engineer. I’m very interested in blockchain technology, especially the technical side of it. I’ve always known the Steemit website, since the very start, but I grew interested in developing distributed applications for it when I found @aggroed’s @steemmonsters game jam, announced on itch.io (https://itch.io/jam/steem-monsters-1000-invitational), which I plan on participating.
I hope you will try out my applications/games in the future! Also, if you need any help with programming, especially regarding blockchains, you can find me on the Steem Monsters Discord chat (here: https://discord.gg/fTvwdt). Hopefully I will also learn something new from this endeavour.
That’s it for now, and feel free to ask any questions!

How does Steemit actually work?
Oh yea, I have upvoted you and followed you. Many blessings!
Welcome to Steemit! Hope you'll like the community here. As a start, here are 5 tips that we believe will be helpful to you:
Keep your passwords safe: Unlike conventional sites, Steemit has 4 types of passwords. Each offers varying degrees of access to your account, so know where and when to use each of them. Also, make sure to keep them all safe and secure.
Get Steem rewards: When writing a post, you'll have the option to choose how to receive your reward: "Default 50%/50%" or "Power Up 100%". As of this moment, choosing Default 50%/50% is the better option. But this can change over time. Check our post to know more.
Upvote wisely: When upvoting, wait at least 30 minutes after the post is published to maximize your curation reward. Also, make sure not to upvote too much too fast so as not to drain your voting power.
Know your Steem, Steem Dollars and Steem Power: Steem and Steem Dollars are the 2 main currencies here. Convert and power up more Steem into Steem Power so you can have higher values on your upvotes.
Have Fun and Enjoy!
Thanks. I hope I can contribute something meaningful to the Steemit community. I wasn't aware of the 30 minute wait before upvoting to maximize the reward, I appreciate the tips!
cheers :-)

Welcome to Steemit! You have taken the first step in achieving many goals here at the crossroads of cryptocurrencies, blockchain, and social media. Consistent engagement is needed to progress and grow your following and influence. I am currently working on a weekly post to curate new users and providing them an introduction to the ecosystem. I have selected your post as one I will feature in an upcoming post! I explain this initiative on one of my previous post.
There are a number of great content creators on the platform to help you on your journey. I have used @gold84 guide as a starting reference for many tasks that can be done here on #Steemit. As I continued to expand this initiative, I continue to find great content and guides for new users such as this post from @finnian who not only includes a great step-by-step process of registering for #Steemit but also provides great security and engagement tips as well to help you on your journey.
Keep your eyes out for these tips and references to help you on your journey to becoming a minnow! It is also a great idea to follow some of the great projects being built on the #STEEM blockchain. You can see these projects here. I wish you the best in your future endeavors!
