Down the rabbit hole - To grow and to become what we could be!

in #introduceyourself7 years ago (edited)

Dear fellow Steemians,

My aim with this account will be a little different from the start. I will be writing about socially relevant topics. Topics which come from my heart but sadly are a little different from I am usually focusing on in daily life right now. So instead of topics I am earning my money with (web-development), or I am interested in as a passive income stream (eg. Cryptocurrencies) I will write about more important/relevant topics, which matter to me and hopefully you, in the way of how to look deeper at our lives, actions, goals and dreams.

And yes, it will get philosophical

That doesn't mean it's supposed to get boring or complicated. I might share some opinions you won't agree with, I might offend you here and there, I might even hurt your feelings at times. I am sorry for that, but what I am aiming for, this sometimes seems to be necessary. My goal is to even change my and your views if useful and possible. I am going to be as honest and direct as possible, while trying to support better actions.

Is this too difficult?

Well maybe, but then at least I am hoping to support at least myself in becoming a better and stronger person, in that process. There is so much to do, and I am mostly stuck right now with trying to make a living instead of working on the things which really matter to myself. I am 34 years old by now and there are the first signs on my body showing that age is slowly taking over youth. Especially when looking at what I have planed for myself. I will be trying to entertain you with at least a free writing style and hopefully well structured topics.

There is a problem

Well even though it still might be a good idea to invest in cryptocurrencies right now, I find it more interesting of finding ways to make a living with something good for others too. I should and will write about my first steps in the crypto-world too, but for now I am more interested in the question, if there is an ear for my deeper thoughts on this platform.

As a web-developer, it easily happens to be working for some bigger company which might not be bad, but also not really good either. Most companies out there aren't particularly trying to make the world a better place. That's alright I guess. But is it really?

It feels weird writing that and when thinking about it, it makes sense that it does. If we did live in a world where man-made suffering was only a small problem, everything would be fine. But there is constant war, hunger, starving to just name a few of what is going wrong on a huge scale. A lot of problems right now are man-made pure and simple. A lot of things could be better for many people instantly, if we all would stop accepting this and stand up instead. I am living a wealthy live, but I know that a lot of that wealth has blood on its hands.

The aim of our actions

It's one thing to watch an action movie, but another to be producing and selling thousand of guns enforcing to keep war and violence alive. Our actions and that of our so called leaders need to aim for freedom. It is a much deeper and more sustainable goal isn't it? Well its healthier and more human too, okay someone might be loosing money and power. But this exactly seems to be a huge problem I guess. There seems to be no limit to how much money and power lays in the hands of a few. But let us talk about that another day.

My goal is to get more into action rather than just thinking about issues. I am already writing about it here and there, but most of those text have never seen daylight. I will be trying to publish something at least once a week. Learning more and more to share my thoughts. If I don't contact me and encourage me to keep up to that goal of mine. I would appreciate it and probably listen to it for 1-2 texts ;-)

Why do my opinions matter?

Well that's your decision in the end. For me it is important to start raising my voice and talk about things which matter to me. I won't focus too much on the negative though but instead try to give examples and ideas of how to deal better with an issue. For example, there is an awesome documentary I really like to recommend to you if you haven't seen it already. The documentary is called "Demain - Tomorrow". It is about all kind of amazing people and projects working and inventing for a better world.

I will be trying to speak up and to be heard about projects like that. One thing is really wrong with that documentary, it is not public property, which it should be... Well, I will talk about that some other day too. Also 2030 is an important year and even though it is more important to change the now, we should have goals for the future too. Since 2030 is reasonably far away and the year when the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) are supposed to be realized mostly, I will be trying to focus on this year and on our positive development moving towards it, too.

The topics I will be talking about are to be picked up again and again over time. Looking and hoping for progress. Feedback, suggestions, critics and discussions are always welcome.

What a great introduction, love that you are not only playing this game for money :) Since you obviously have no problem to use your face for your profile, maybe you want to add a picture in this post (editing is possible for 7 days) - would look way better!
I resteemed you via @welcoming where I present promising new users. Check for the other newbies there as well ;)
Btw, if you are a web developer you should check out @utopian-io, where contributions to open source projects get rewarded. Maybe you can develop and do something good at the same time!

Hey Martin,
thank you for your nice reply! And yes I know images always look better, but it kind of was a test where I wanted to see if posts with no pictures are noticed much at all too...

Thank you for resteeming me, I appreciate it!

I have looked into @utopian-io a little already, and yes that would be awesome. I am thinking about working at a company again which, like it said, doesn't make much of a difference and it makes me a little sad to be doing so. It won't be forever though.

I would actually love to use my skills much more for the good, I am planing a project about the SDGs and for being able to know about and travel to awesome places and people all over the world to join forces and knowledge. For now it will stay a little sideproject though. I am even starting to find some sponsors for it, so maybe in the near future, I can focus much more on it. I should write an article about that idea soon :-)

Take care,
Nandaka
