Know Mechanical Engineering

In this article I will discuss about Mechanical Engineering. For those of you who do not know and familiar with this technique may be wondering, what is mechanical engineering ??? what is learned in mechanical engineering ??? and what work can be taken by engineering graduates ???

Understanding Mechanical Engineering
Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering is the engineering science concerning the application of the principles of physics to the analysis, design, manufacture and maintenance of a mechanical system. This science requires a deep understanding of the main concepts of the branches of mechanics, kinematics, material engineering, thermodynamics and energy.

Mechanical Engineering is one field of engineering science that can provide great opportunities to realize the machine industry in terms of maintance and repair, design / design, manufacture / production and environmental systems in the future. Experts or experts from mechanical engineering is usually referred to as engineers (engineering machine), which makes use of the understanding of this engineering science in designing and analyzing the manufacture of vehicles, aircraft, industrial plants, equipment and industrial machinery and so forth. This profession is highly supported by high intellectual, creative and innovative power. Mechanical engineering usually consists of:

1.Designing Mechanics and Construction

  1. Manufacturing Process and Production System
    3.Conversion energy
    4.Ilmu Material / Metallurgy

Mechanical engineering began to develop as a science after the industrial revolution in Europe in the 18th century. Then in the 19th century more and more developed following the development of physics. Mechanical engineering is increasingly sophisticated, and the engineers are now developing themselves in the composite, mechatronic, and nanotechnology sections. It is also associated with aviation engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering, petroleum engineering, and chemical engineering.

Subdisciplines Science
The branch of mechanical engineering consists of many other subdisciplines. Some of these subdisciplines are taught in college at the undergraduate level (S1). Some of them are specific to mechanical engineering and some are combined from mechanical engineering with other techniques. Here is a subdiscipline of Mechanical Engineering;

  1. Mechanics
Mechanics is the field of science that studies the style and its effects on an object. In particular, mechanics are used to analyze and predict acceleration and deformation (both elastic and plastic) of an object.
    2.Kinematics
Kinematics is the science that studies the movement of an object and system, regardless of the force that causes the movement. The oscillation of the piston in the machine is one example of a simple kinematics system.
    3.Mechronic and Robotics
Mechatronics is an interdisciplinary branch that combines mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and software engineering. In this case, the engine operates automatically through the use of electric motors, servo-mechanisms, and other electronic devices with the use of specialized software. The most common example of mechatronic systems is the CD-ROM drive. The mechanical system opens and closes its drive, rotates the CD and shifts the position of the laser, with the optical system reading data on the CD and changing it to bits. The integrated software controls the process, and connects the contents of the CD to the computer.
Robotics is an application of mechatronic science to create a robot, which is often used to perform dangerous, unpleasant, or repetitive tasks. This robot can be made in various shapes and sizes, everything is programmed first. An engineer will usually use the science of kinematics and mechanics in creating a robot.
  2. Structural Analysis
Structural analysis is a branch of mechanical engineering (as well as civil engineering) that is used to see why and how an object fails.
    5.Termodynamics
Thermodynamics is a science used in some engineering sciences, including mechanics and chemical engineering. Thermodynamics studies energy, its use, and how to change it through the system. More specifically, thermodynamics in the technique puts more emphasis on how to convert one energy to another. For example, a car engine converts the chemical energy present in the fuel into heat energy, and then converted again into motion energy that will drive the wheels of the car.

Science studied in Mechanical Engineering
Students of Mechanical Engineering besides must be able to master the basic of the exact science (mathematics, physics, chemistry), they also have to understand various concepts including mechanics, kinematics, thermodynamics and energy. The field of study in Mechanical Engineering deals a lot with early movers, such as steam turbines, combustion engines, machine tools, pumps and compressors, cooling and heating, and certain chemical appliances. In addition, in Mechanical Engineering also studied the physical properties and phenomena
