Greetings from the NomadCouple: On the Road, At Home in the World

Hi everyone! Justin and Jayme aka @nomadcouple here. We wanted to introduce ourselves to all the global Steemians out there. We are excited to be apart of this ever growing community and are looking forward to reading your posts, interacting with you, and sharing all the foodie finds, travel stories, and our take on what it’s like traveling the globe with no home to return to.

We were based in Los Angeles, California living the typical Angeleno lifestyle, braving the traffic, freelancing, but always finding time to experience the great things that LA has to offer. Hiking around Griffith Park, catching Dodgers games, going to comedy shows, strolling around the Hollywood Farmer's Market, and of course indulging in our fair share of tacos were just a few of our favorite LA activities.

After 3 years of experiencing all LA had to offer we got a bit antsy for adventure. While living in LA we did a fair amount of travel, but we starting thinking about how cool it would be to hit the road with just our passports and a couple of backpacks.  It was only after a string of professional opportunities arose did we realize that this fantasy could actually be a reality and we could work remotely and anywhere in the world.

Jayme is a professional photographer specializing in food, travel, interiors, and lifestyle. Justin's professional life is a touch more variant. He runs an Import/Export company, writes, produces photo shoots with Jayme, and does a fair amount of photo editing. We are a team professionally and partners in travel and life.

In May of 2016 it started as a 2 month road trip up the west coast to Washington and back. Our travel “trial run” was more than we expected and more than we hoped for. We could do this! We really could sell everything, pack a few bags, a camera, a few laptops, and travel the world! Well, this is where we find you all right now. In the past year we've been to France, Italy, Germany, Thailand, New Zealand, Australia, and we're currently in Bali. It has been well over a year of traveling, and there’s no end date in sight.

Please follow us to hear about our global foodie finds, travel notes, and life on the road @nomadcouple. Do you have any city or country recommendations? We’d love to hear from you! Suggestions on where we should head next and cool culinary destinations are always appreciated!

Welcome to Steemit! Can't wait to hear about your adventures. :)

Thanks @beng05 ! We just got to Bali and I think that is a great place for adventures.

Great post @nomadcouple! I hope you enjoy your time here on @steemit. It's a long road but think of this as a marathon rather than a sprint. :)

Welcome to Steem @nomadcouple I have upvoted and sent you a tip

Thanks! We'll take any advice you want to send our way! ~Jayme

This post received a 1.0% upvote from @randowhale thanks to @myday! For more information, click here!

Thanks @myday for this extra bonus you sent our way. Still trying to figure this new world out, but it looks like you gave us a bump :) Fascinating stuff happening here.

@myday - I scared with a 1.0% upvote from @randowhale you lost a lot of money. You can find more about the value of randowhale upvotes at my blog where I track series of randowhale upvotes and their value. At the moment I scare all around and below 4% is a loss. 1% is a big loss

By the way, you guys inspire me! What kind of would you guys are doing and sustain yourself? do you have some tricks?

Very cool! It sounds like you're living abroad already, so you'd probably transition into a nomad easier than most. I think we've learned a lot along the way, such as ways to survive lean months- (stay longer term and cook at home more), where to find good info from fellow nomads (Nomadist and many, many more), and how to not kill each other after being together 24/7, ha!

Welcome! Hope you enjoy Steemit! We are a great community. I am a Brazilian writer and videomaker, living in London. Here I post about photography, travelling and stories. Have a look at my profile and if you like it, follow me. Cheers!

We will definitely check it out. Thanks!

Thanks for sharing your story! I will follow your experiences with envy... and thinking about copy your idea :P

Yes, go for it! We're happy to share the things we've learned along the way. It's been the best year ever and I definitely recommend giving it a go.

Love the decision you made! all the best during the trip, keep the blogs comming

Thanks! It's been an adventure so far. Hopefully many more to come!
