Oh Donald, my Donald!
Oh Donald, My Donald!
O Donald! my Donald! your fearful tweet is done,
This nation has weather’d every pack, the nation we sought is done,
The war I fear, the peace is not here, the people all faulting,
While following eyes with steady feel, their browsers grim and daring;
But O heart! heart! heart!
O the fleeting drops of dread,
Where in the Web my Donald flies,
For he must not know what he's said.
O Donald! my Donald! rise up and hear the tweets;
Rise up—for you the banner is flung—for you the twitter trolls,
For you CNNs and Voxs write—for you the news is a-crowding,
For you they call, the swaying mass, their hands are scrolling;
Here Donald! dear father!
This fingers beneath your hand!
It is some nightmare that on the phone,
You’ve said what you have said.
My Donald does not answer, his lips are pursed and still,
My father does not feel my arm, he has no peace nor will,
The phone is anchor’d safe and sound, its voyage closed and done,
From fearful trip the victor ship comes in with object won;
Exult O shores, and tweet O phones!
But I with mournful tread,
On the Web my Captain lies,
Falsely believing what he's said.
