Small town girl dreaming big dreams...

Ehm, ehm. Hard to know how to introduce myself here. Should I be formal, funny, inspirational, entertaining?
I am just going to go with honest and see what happens.

Hello, dear steemit community! Excited to be part of this innovative community!
Why am I here?
Well, I like writing, but I have the feeling I am not doing it enough. I have a blog (https://smilingtravelerblog.wordpress.com, in case anyone is interested) but the thing is I am a perfectionist and I spend ages writing blog posts and choosing pictures and fixing format.
I kind of need a way to write where no one knows me, where I don't really think too much about who reads and what they think. So, I am trying this out.

Let's get back to the introduction: I am Italian, I come from a small mountain village up in the beautiful Alps. I lived in five cities around Europe (6 years ago I moved abroad for the first time). Now I am back and trying to start out a new freelancer project and become location independent. Because I realized I hate offices and want to be free to work from anywhere. I also love traveling, I have been more or less all over Europe, many places in South East Asia, a couple in Africa and waiting for a chance to see the Americas.

What else? I also love yoga, swimming, the wind from the ocean, hiking, food, stupid jokes, volunteering, reading, getting inspired and all about technology.

My dream is to become a marketing consultant and strategist for social enterprises and non-profits and help them spread their important messages and missions, thus contributing to changing the world and spreading positivity and hope for the future.

I could go on and on and on, I guess. Summarizing 27 years in a page is not as easy as I thought. But I'll wrap it up for today and be back to writing another story soon. Feel free to ask me questions and give me ideas for future posts :)

Here is a picture of my village, for context.

Welcome to Steemit and best of luck with your freelance project. I have some ancestors from Northern Italy, in the Valpolicella area specifically. What is the name of your village?

It's called Auronzo di Cadore, Belluno. It's not that far from there :) Valpolicella is really popular for good wine! Have you been here?

I have not been there - yet! It's high on my list of things to do. I do enjoy the wine though, and am fortunate that several restaurants where I live carry that varietal.

Welcome, welcome, Smiling Traveler!

My name is Nicholas Black

Welcome us all, both old and new to this place of sharing and treasure. Well, that's how it was explained to me anyway! welcome aboard and if you get a minute, take a look at my mostly ridiculous, sometimes informative posts.

I'd love to see us all grow together, so if you feel so inclined, FOLLOW NICK and my silly antics and I'll do the same. Teamwork makes the dream work (an old coach in those way-too-tight shorts always said that before slapping us on the butt...which I think constitutes assault these days, but whatever.)

Rock on! :) Enjoy STEEMIT!
