I can feel with you. At least i had similiar experience with promotion.

Im Hobby Musicianand i just wanted people to discover my free music. I had the same depths. Something in me said "Give up. They dont want to hear it. Nobody listens. They dont care" But i didnt do that even when the voice is still there and from time to time i get wonderful feedback. But lets just say, i do music for myself and i just throw it out in the wild. Maybe someone likes it, maybe not. I dont care that much anymore and its way better now. ;)

And i think all of us musicians do music for just one thing. The soul!
Do your thing as long as you enjoy! Throw your music out there no matter the feedback! I really cant wait to listen :)
